Hey all,

I recently bought a gtx 480 for my new PC build, and already own a 465. I was just wondering, is it possible to SLI these two cards?

Well, the short answer is Yes, but you don't want to. That SLI mode is known as Asynchronious SLI, and it is more toruble than it is worth. Your faster card would clock back to match the 465, and system stability at that point would go through the floor. You would have blue screens errors, you will have game issues. I would not reccommend it at all, but yes it is possible.

Ok thanks for the informative reply.

I tried putting them both in out of curiosity, and it recognises them both but only utilises the 480. But judging by what you've said, definitely not worth pursuing that avenue any further!

Yeah, Kao pointed this out to me recently since I'd never messed with SLI before.
