Autoplay problems with cameraFollow

Hi, a bit of an odd question to ask on a game forum, but it's an irritating one and I can't seem to figure it out.

I run Windows XP Professional, version 5.1. Normally, with my previous computer, if I plug in an USB stick or my camera directly into the computer, I get a pop-up from Windows asking what I want to do with it. It doesn't work anymore now, for some reason. I checked the settings at my computer, under the devices itself, the autoplay settings seem to be in order, the computer ought to ask me what I want to do when it registers that I plug in my USB stick. The computer does seem to be working on something, nothing major but I do keep seeing the hourglass from time to time.

Does anyone know what I might be missing?
