Use internet explorer?Follow

1) www.getfirefox.com

Firefox is the most secure browser available, especially if you toss on noscript plugin.

2) http://www.malwarebytes.org/

Download and install Malwarebytes Antimalware, which will remove all the Trojans/Viruses/etc that you have gotten from using Internet Explorer.

3) http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner

Download and install Piriform CCleaner, it's a nice tool which will help fix your registry, remove garbage to free up space, and even wipe the free space on your hard drive with the standard NSA 7 pass algorithm, if you want to make it impossible to recover data.

4) No matter what browser you use, Update your Flash. Flash vulnerabilities cause a lot of problems for people.


The above fix the majority of problems the typical user experiences.

I've edited the links in the first page to directly take interested users to the Malwarebytes and Piriform CCleaner sites. To the OP, while your intentions were good and you meant no harm, the fact that the links went to sites other than what were being mentioned coupled with your low post count, and that one was a direct .exe download, you can't blame Shaowstrike for believing that they were malicious links.
