npc and toons look like blobsFollow

Hi, I am a returning ffxi player and on my laptop where i got a benchmark of 3000 and loaded fine. When I login and character selection and during gameplay all characters, npcs, and mobs look like a blob or a solid color thing walking around. I tried reinstalling the whole thing and the update was annoying and the problem is still there. I also played around with the graphic settings to make it high or low and the problem was still there. I could play the game perfectly fine just a little depressing while doing so. I was wondering if anyone could help me out or have the same problem as well. thank you.
