Catalyst CrashesFollow

I use a Radeon X800 Pro GPU. Back in the day I updated it's Catalyst Control Center and Device Driver from the ATI website. After doing so, FFXI would crash as soon as it tried to display Firaga landing on a group of players such as when you face Suzaku or Hakutaku with ****-poor stunners. If I turned my character to face away from the group then the spell would land and the game wouldn't crash. I fixed the crashing by using the ancient Device Driver that came with my GPU from factory. It fixed the problem....


Time goes on...


Now, FFXI crashes at random with the old Device Driver and the old Catalyst during times of intense activity not limited to displaying Firaga on a large group. I installed the latest Catalyst and Device Driver from ATI. Problem persists. This is especially discouraging during Campaign Battle because FFXI crashes and you lose all of your hard earned Experience and Allied Notes.


Has anyone else encountered this problem? Can anyone offer any resolve? All replies welcome. My humble appreciation in advance.
