Okay, so I have almost hit the point where I am just going to go ahead and build a desktop (unless I happen to find one which will run WoW with good frame-rates at max graphics, which I doubt I will). So, now I have a second problem... What do I need to look for? Here is what I know I need (I will be posting my potential setup as I fix it up, though I will happily take any recommendation anyone can give for a budget under $1500).

Chasis
Motherboard
CPU
PSU (If not included in Chasis)
Videocard
(Should I get a sound card? If not, what takes its place?)
Hard Drive
RAM
Monitor
Keyboard
Mouse
Speakers
Disc Drive

Printer

I do have one question, does anyone have a good monitor suggestion? I would prefer one that is around 15-20 inches (I don't have the room for one too big, flatscreen and, hopefully, HD. Like I said, I have a budget of $1500.

Am I missing anything?

Most highend Mobos have a integrated sound card that is usually very good.

Also your going to want two CD rom Drives preferably both burners.

Before you decide anything you need to decide air or water cooling. Also if you already have a keyboard, mouse, monitor, and speakers I would suggest leaving them off the list for now. This will grant you more cash for the pc it self. You can always go back later and get the other stuff. Your main focus is the machine itself not the perifs.

Once you decide on air or water I can guide you into the right direction.

I'm going to go for air cooling, considering I don't have the patience or OCD levels required to manage a water-cooled system.

I don't have anything yet. I need the monitor and everything else.

Thats a pretty good build. The powersupply I would change though to a toughpower thermaltake. I recommend before buying anything look at this website.

That's probably not a bad idea.

The power supply you have in that list is good enough, but the others' suggestions on purchasing a ThermalTake is sound. TT are great power supplies... most of the time anyway.

THe Thermaltake tough power is one of the better thermal take models. Thats the only reason I said you might wanna switch it.

C'mon Smash, you know G Skill RAM is crap. Azazel or Araxius, or somebody with an A name said so.

My PS fan started making noise tonight, guess it's time for an upgrade. I went with ThermalTake last time, I see no reason no to this time.

A good place to look is http://www.ibuypower.com you can customize all of your components by choosing the drop down boxes. Don't skimp on memory and don't accept the corsair value series memory they're crap. G.Skill and Mushkin are also crap. I know this because I'm a computer repair tech. More stable brands would be OCZ, Kingston, Crucial. Hit or miss: A-Data, pqi, patriot, corsair XMS err? this brand is suppose to be good, but I've had too many Memtest+86 errors with XMS, corsair quality is going in the toilet.

You're about two years out of date.
