Hello,

For the last few months, I have been having a lot of trouble with the icons in various in-game menus.

It had actually gone away for awhile, and then the last patch brought it back with a vengeance.

My problem is that the icons for the abilities fade or dissappear alltogether.

Before, they had simply faded. Sometimes they would get near-transparent and other times they would jump back to their normal look.

But since Tuesday's maintenance, they have been jumping different transparencies and dissappearing all together when the moment before they were perfectly fine.

I tried using a new inerface, that didn't work.

I tried uninstalling/reinstalling WoW, that didn't work.

I have deleted all my addons, that didn't work (and then I had to redownload them -.-;;).

I am getting really irritated, as it makes playing much more difficult when you cannot see your abilities/buffs/debuffs. I am basically confined to the abilities that I use constantly, as I can clearly remember them.

Here are some screenshots to help:

One.

Two.

Three

They show different levels of the fading on two different interfaces (the default and my custom.)

It also shows how not all the abilities necessarily always fade.

My System's Manager tells me that my video card is working properly.

I am running a system with an:

AMD Sempron Processor 3400+
2.01 Ghz, 896 MB of RAM
PNY nVidia G-Force FX 5200 PCI 128 MB DDR

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated, as I will, unfortunately, have to cancel my accoutn if I cannot find a solution, as it really ruins the gamepaly.

Hope you are all having a good day!

Well, if your addons aren't the problem, try deleting your WTF folder. To me, it definitely seems like your ui transparency settings are on the fritz (duh...) and they are most likely corrupted somehow. I doubt it is your graphics card, this looks to me like it is software problems.

If deleting WTF doesn't work, try reinstalling WoW (you should have the patch files lying around in your WoW folder. Back those up first.)
