Mic EchoFollow

#1 Mar 27 2007 at 3:17 PM Rating: Decent
I'm getting echo through my mic. Whenever I talk in a program like CamFrog, MSN messenger etc, about 3 seconds after I say something I hear it back in my headset or speakers. No it is not feedback from the other person's speakers or headset and no it is not the mic I am using, I have tried with multiple mics.

I know there used to be a microphone setting under sound controls playback but it's not there so I was thinking that was the problem but even if it is I can't turn it off. Does anyone have a solution to this problem? If you need more specific information I can try to give it to you.

Edit: Any help would be amazingly appreciated, talking on audiochat over your own voice is possibly one of the most annoying things ever. I keep raising my voice to talk over myself and I can never hear anything anyone else is saying. Thanks a bunch.

There should be an option to turn of the monitoring of your own voice.

I was thinking that, but where exactly would that option be? I know this is not a program specific problem, so I'm assuming it would be somewhere in the control panel but I've searched extensively.

I went and took a look after posting, and I couldn't find it. I had someone walk me through it when I did it.
