Age of Empires 2 question :: World of Warcraft

Can anyone help me with the laggy problems on Age of Empires 2: the Conquerors edition? This happens to me and my whole family when we play. It happens alot quicker during LAN network and freezes often. On solo play, it gets laggy after about 4 to 5 hours.

What are the specs of the systems you are running, and what make and model of router are you using?

3000+ processor, 512 MB DDR SDRAM at 333MHz, NVidia GForce4 MX, running windows XP and a Toshiba PCX2500 cable modem.

Your main problem is probably lack of ram, though that video card is not helping matters. Upgrade your machines to at least a gig and your performance issues should start to disappear. You also want to upgrade to a geforce 7xxx series card of some sort whenever you have funds available.

Another thing that would help would be going to gigabit ethernet. The new linksys wireless N router (the silver one, not the blue one) has a gigabit switch, that's 10/100/1000 capable. if your motherboards have gigabit cards already, well worht the upgrade cost in my oppinion.
