NVIDIA GeForce Graphics Card =/ (was forum=10)Follow

/wave all ^^

So, my hubby gets me a new {kickattacks} PC for Xmas and I just moving from my old system, start POL and............ to say the least I am thoroughly disappointed with the visuals =(

The new system has a NVIDIA GeForce 7950 GT Video Card, which apparently POL doesn't support?????????????????? I think I'm reading this right------>

Now what the heck do I do???? Any help from those more savvy would be much appreciated.

Anyways lemme explain further my issue............. Game does in fact load and let me in. Problem is with resolution, I've tried all settings from 1024x768 to 1280x1024, but while everything is beautifil at log-in, resolution bites once I get to player agreement screen. Font settings are huge and graphics are the grainest i've seen ingame.

Any thoughts?????

I can get into the game and have numerous times to try and see if I can improve anything via "Congiguration", but nothing seems to help.

Once I'm ingame, this is where the issues start.... EXTRA large fonts on all menus and screens and general poor resolution as well. I don't think its my drivers because outside of ffxi everything is great quality (ie. windows, net, etc.). Almost wondering if I should swap cards with my old box and use the Radeon card {hmmm}.

Dunno if im allowed to post this here, but changing your registry can greatly increase your graphics... its amazing the difference.

Start> Run > Regedit

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > PlayonlineUS > SquareEnix > FinalFantasyXI

Set changes so that the number is the same as below in the ( )
0000 modify to 4 to make (4)
0001 modify to 500 to make (1280)
0002 modify to 400 to make (1024)
0003 modify to 800 to make (2048)
0004 modify to 800 to make (2048)

1 and 2 are your overlay resolution, so you can put less or as higher as your monitor allows or to your liking... but those are probably best for most computers

3 and 4 is your background resolution, so make sure these are the SAME, but can be between 1200 and 2048.

IF THIS CRASHES YOUR GAME IMMEDIATELY WHEN U START U HAVE THEM TOO HIGH FOR YOUR MONITOR... so turn them down :D

You will now love the smoothness of your game

IF THIS SCREWS THINGS UP DONT BLAME ME... JUST CHANGE THEM BACK TO THE WAY THEY WERE

another one i've seen posted was mogtoolz, it does the registry editing for you, for those who are uncomfortable editing registry(quick way to kill comp)
