Spoolsv.exe issues.Follow

#1 Nov 14 2006 at 4:47 AM Rating: Decent
So this morning I found out that a proces named spoolsv.exe is using around 50% of my cpu the whole time and making it very hard to play games. I've never had any problems with that proces before today.

So I've did research and figured out that spoolsv.exe is actually a service that came with Windows and has something to do with your printing queue but also a known Trojan.

Things I've tried out:

Restarting my computer: No effect

Stopping the proces: Solves the problem until it restarts himself again. (Which is within a minute.)

Turning the printer on/off: No effect.

Clearing all my print jobs in queue: There weren't any jobs in queue, so no effect.

Scanning on Viruses/Spyware: Tried Panda Platinum, Windows Defender and Hitman Pro (A compilation of all well known free scanners) and they found nothing. No effect and 4 hours of my day wasted with waiting in front of the computer.Smiley: cry

Removing all printers with the exclusion of the default one: No effect.

Disableling the printer queue: No effect.

Restarting the Printer Spooling service: No effect.

Disableling the Printer Spooling service: Has effect, but now I can't print anymore which isn't good either. (Yes, I'm a very demanding guy.)

Removing all the printer drives and reinstall them: No effect.

Removing any files in System32 that should cause problems with the Spooling service: None found, no effect.

Is there anyone that has some other solutions? Because I think I'm going to cry now...
