I have what I think is a very weird problem. Sometimes when I try to watch movies, I get sound but no picture. This wouldn't bother me so much if it was an all the time thing, but it isn't.

I've tried uninstalling my codec packages and downloading new ones several times (both through the microsoft website and third party). I've run virus scans and every spyware program known to me and nothing.

Anyone else encountered this?

Oh and when it happens, it's all file extensions that will not play, and does the same for online videos, quicktime, realplayer and wmp.

Sounds nasty. Can you get sound out of windows when it happens or is it just with video files?

Might actually be something deeper than just video problems i'm thinking.

Everything else works fine. Games play ok, internet works and sound on the video's work. No other issues whatsoever with PC. Not just talking random movies either. I've tested multiple formats and tried the same videos that worked before, and later (so far).

I just don't want it to stem out somehow and the stretches that I can't view are sometimes a pain.
