Does/Has anyone attemted to use Windows Server 2003 as their OS and been able to run FFXI? I talked with SE and the tech could not give me a straight answer except---
ICR Ariel L: All of the system requirements for our game should be on the packaging and our website, www.playonline.com
ME: well I have not seen the listing of server edition 2003 listed but did not want to assume that since it is a newer release that it would definately work
ICR Ariel L: We have not tested that, what has been approved is on our requirements
ICR Ariel L: Therefore I cannot give you a definite answer for your question

Anybody out there with a good answer?

Please help.

I really don't know, but why do you want to run FFXI on a Windows Server 2003 in the first place?

A couple of reasons:

I may reformat my HD and I have a few OS's to choose from. I am currently studying for my MCSE and MCSA, etc and I need to be in that environment.

I can do two things partition my HD for XP and server 2003 or I prefer to run 1 OS on the same CPU. Or I can run 2 CPU's to the same monitor, but I already have another CPU running XP so that would mean 3 CPU's + in my home office.

I eventually would like to network my entire house with all TV's and other equipment and centralize it to my main CPU, the one in question. So I would prefer to stick with one computer and 1 OS so I do not need to reboot/log on/off etc. when I need to switch, but now the more I think about it, I guess a 2nd PC would be great, since I do not want to install a 3rd party windower and I can just hit my video feed button on the monitor. Hmmm.... now that I think about it I may have answered my own delima.

Well If anybody does have the experience of use or knowledge on the 2003 issue I would love the input. Thank you in advance.
