Sound, its working, sort ofFollow

OK, well i just reformated, and got everything updated... i have all my drivers installed... In winamp, every sound file runs beautifully, but its when POL comes up that I want to kill someone.

Once POL opens the sound starts playing, however the sound begins to skip around, and beins to distort. I dont seem to understand why all of a sudden my sound wouldnt work for POL. BTW, i did open the game, and the same thing happens with the music. I did the POL file checker, but there were no errors. I cant seem to figure out why the my sound screws up only when playing POL and FFXI.
