i havn't been able to play FFXI for about a week now, ive called the playonline service about 10 times, i get a POL-1162 error, but the thing about it is, my update downloads everything up to music227.tmp never any further then that, when i delete the .tmp files and try again it does everything up to music 227 then stops saying 1162 error.. then when i hit retry it starts at music 227.. gets to 6% complete, then dies.. wtf< is wrong please help.

lol, this is crazy, i just reinstalled it all, well.. the playonline update won't go through, whenever it gets to a .bmp music file it goes to the error 1162, this is to much bull to be paying for.. and ive never had problems like this until lately.. so now i'am farther back then even before. i think its a bmp thing, because before it would ALWAYS stop at music227.bmp
now its stopping at the playonline .bmp, ive done just about everything ive been told and or recomended to do so far.. i just don't know

.bmp is a bitmap file. A Picture file.

Uninstall the game (including FFXI & Tetra Master), restart, run defrag and any kind of spyware removal tool. Reinstall the game, try to patch.

Another question, what kind of internet connection are you on? If you have a DSL/Cable connection go to http://www.dslreports.com and run the tests to make sure you settings are correct.

If you are on a dial-up connection, umm, contact your ISP before downloading and ask them to monitor your connection for dropped packets (depending on how big your ISP is, they will do this).

That's the only solutions I can think of.
