EQ Login Problems.Follow

Ello, I haven't posted in this area of the forums before, but hear me out. This is rundown EVERY TIME I have tried to log in for the past week:

I start up the patcher, run the updates if necessary, then proceed to the EQ window. I type in the station name and password. No errors so far. Then I proceed to the server selection window. I choose my server (I have tried it with 2 servers, Erollisi Marr and Stromm) then click the 'Play' button.
It pauses for a moment, then the screen goes blank for a moment as to start the loading screen. A short time later, a dialog box pops up saying, "Everquest.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvienience." It does not give any details, or any explanation why, or how this might have happened. Also, this dialog box is in Windows (XP), not EQ itself.

If anyone else has had any problems similar to mine, please share what you did to fix it.
