Crashes to Desktop From Log InFollow

#1 May 07 2004 at 9:00 PM Rating: Decent
I just got the game..did the update etc..I got a World Pass from a friend and I was ready to play.

Everything is ready now..I start the game and the Intro Movie plays perfectly (really smooth) and my sound works fine.

Then it goes to that desert scene, but then the graphics start freaking out. Some objects turn invisible then the screen starts flickering. You can kind of see another screen flickering here and there with like 4 buttons on the right side. The second one down says "Create Character" (Which is what I need to do) As soon as I click it (I can't click the top one for some reason) the game crashes to the desktop. No errors or anything. It makes the selection sound then goes black..then the desktop comes up.

Anyone know what might be wrong?

Here's my specs:

2.086 GHz
AMD Athalon XP 2600+
512 RAM
SiS Xabre 64MB graphics
Windows XP Home

That should be more than enough to run it right? I don't see what could be wrong. :( Please help. Thanks.

Unsupported graphics card. that card doesn't have a hardware texture and lighting rendere built in. You won't be able to run FFXI with that card. sorry.

Yeah I just found that out today lol...I feel like a noob.

My friend said its an NVidia game...good news is..he wants the intake on my car.

So I traded him my performance intake for his brand new NVidia GeForce 5700 X)

I should be playing by Monday. :D

Thanks anyway for the help.
