I was wondering which of these polearms would be best?
5-hit Stingray+2 STP version
5-hit Stingray+2 WS DMG+10%
5-hit Stingray+2 TP Bonus+100
5-hit Vougier's Contus
Or if there is a better polearm than any of these besides Ryunohige, Gugnir, Rhongomiant, or Corsesca+2. Thanks for any input!

Stingray+2's or Vougier's Contus?Follow
The TP Bonus Stingray is horrible.
The WS DMG Stingray is mediocre, I generally swing a 50% WS 15% ability 35% melee split, so 10% WS damage is going to lose out to the ~8% higher damage of the Contus, given that that helps *all* your damage, not just WS (not to mention the attack, conserve TP, and double attack that will have some sort of marginal benefit)
The STP Stingray may be better than the VC, depending on what you're using to 5-hit the VC without the 13 sTP in the weapon slot, it's what I use so I can use Red Curry instead of Carbonara, Thew Bomblet instead of White Tathlum, etc..

If this is related to Abyssea use alone, then you can use pretty much any polearm to achive a 5 hit without any issues. Which therefore makes Stingray +2 kind of lacking.
If this is to do non-abyssea related events, then Stingray +2 will simplify a true 5 hit, and make it more effective as stated above.
If this is to overall better yourself, you're probably more interested in spending time on a different weapon overall, as a 5 hit and or dirty 5 hit can be obtained easily as well through the use of other gear etc. However, Vougier's would be the better choice if a 5 hit is obtained regardless, as it would pack a much bigger punch in this scenario.

you're overstating the DMG disparity between stingray+2 and contus. 9%~ more weapon damage isn't 9% more damage. you also have to factor in fSTR and WSC. i quit too long ago to know realistic fSTR and WSC against current targets, but chances are it's more like %6~%7 total damage from the extra 10 damage (like 8% melee, 5~6% WS). though, it still probably wins unless distribution skews toward WS damage for some reason.
How does the DA work on Contus? FFXIAH said it gives you a 'Multistrikes' buff after Jump is used, but seems far fetched...
