I've heard both ways.

Frankly, I don't care really. People use martial weapons for their 300% effect at 200%, which is the same if it's x1.5 or +100%. The only weapon it would matter on is the Anelace.

Fairly helpful, been MIA from this game for over half a year, and needed to relearn some old tricks. Even made some new tweaks in my merit gears after reading this guide (honestly I never thought I would be wearing orange jerkin again since back in my bibiki days, sigh), just in time to explore a very polearm friendly staging point for first time~ Should be fun, heh.

Kudos~

Didn't mention Ares set.

Didn't mention Valkyrie's Fork

+3 Enmity on homam hands isn't much of a problem given DRG's ability to shed hate. Worth it for the extra ACC in a haste+meat build.

Didn't bother to mention Ares because if you can get it, you don't need my guide to read about it. Same deal with the Gungnir and it's predecessors. But I'll consider it if I stop being lazy.

And haven't included Valk fork because no one even knows how to get it.

I still don't think Homam hands are better than Dusk. However, having Homam and a few mil gil to buy other things is better.

Under your discription for AGI, it doesn't say anything about attack speed and critical hit rate, wich i was told AGI increases. Am I living a lie? Or did you forget?

Methinks either the person who told you that AGI does that, or you are confusing AGI's effects with another game.

Well in that case, I'd have a nice chuckle at his expense then. Either he's trying to have a laugh at a newbie by telling them lies, or he's grossly misinformed (and probably miss-geared if he really believes it) and SO sure of his theories that he'll repeatedly make a fool of himself.

Just an idea, but is it possible to re-arrange the gear section so it's not only sorted by level, but by slot as well?

I just tried to find out what gear I wanna look for during level 55-75 and I found it really hard to scroll back and forth to see wich item replaces wich.

If you don't want to put that much work into it then I could do it for you, just thought its gonna be easier to get the right setup out of this list.

Awsome guide, expecially for new and lvling players. Only thing i disagree with you on is how you said the Wyrm Finger Gauntlets are the best peice of acc gear. I personally think that the Hydra Finger Gauntlets have more benificial stats that make up for and far exceed the -5% magic dmg/wyvern, which is pretty useless without more -% gear like it.

Just thought I'd add this here, found a new ring that would be great around level 49 for those who might not be able to afford a Woodsman or Sniper's Ring earlier on:

Ecphoria Ring Lv49 Ring Accuracy+4 "Store TP"+1 Enchantment: Cure Amnesia (100 Charges)
Obtained by: NM drop

Also, I want to say thank you for this amazing guide, it has really helped me out with Dragoon to date. The compilation of information makes it so easy to find what I need.

Thanks Faffy!

Could you show me where I said anything about Feral hands? I'm not seeing it.

As for fencing bracers: they fall into a no-mans land of "why bother?"

They're half the price of SFG, and half the effectiveness, and equipable at a higher level. They're more than twice the price of NQ Tarasque, but eqiupable five levels earlier.

Tabin +1 look interesting, but don't seem like they're frequently crafted. The 3 ACC gives you a 1.5% hit rate increase (below cap). So, as long as you have more than 266 ATT, they give a bigger boost than feral +1.

The only piece I see missing is Barbarossa's Zerehs

Lv75 legs str+4 vit +4 haste 3% They are one of the best legs out there!

Obtained from :Target the captain ISNM

Oh and at level 50 the ulthalum ring reward from beating treasure expansion
lv.50 +4 attack +4 accuracy in Asault +4 dex +4 str regen effect.
Just think at that level the accuracy + attack is worth mentioning.

1 less accuracy than sniper's but 4 more attack makes it a great piece.

Your guide has been very helpful to me, I was just adding things I didn't see :) That I consider noteworthy actually the pants are ranked higher than homan on pimpyourgear.. not sure which is more effective since I am only level 71 but I will be equipping these the second I ding 75 hve owned them for 2 years :D and I have no homan :/ I would say they are easier to obtain overall than homan just a good party of 6 can do this fight.

I'm not sure what to do with the Nuevo Coselete nor the Champion's Galea. I'd like to mention them somehow, but what they can be is limitless. I'm tempted to say "they have enough threads on their own" but once they've become old news they might fall into obscurity for new DRGs.

Also, I'd appreciate it if people would challenge me on my statements in various sections more frequently. There was some seriously out dated stuff and I don't re-read my entire guide every update to make sure everything is still holding up.
