I picked one of these up the other day. Since I don't have a Kannagi yet (too busy with 5 other jobs), I was previously using Oirandori(sp) and Kamome. Now I've been using the Oynos offhand, and wanted to post here about it.
The haste proc on the knife is low, I'd say 10%, but it's more than enough to reapply haste within 10-20 seconds after it wears, so effectively, you have perma-haste sans mage, which makes dual-boxing even easier. Because the knife is 40dmg, it's no slouch in the DD department either. Eyeballing, I'd say both main and offhand swings average the same damage, though I definitely notice the absence of the crit boost on the Kamome (with it, my hits seem to hover around 200 without food, without it, my hits seem to over around 170). Still, the perma haste and low delay make up for it, IMO.
Also, I've been experimenting with alternative third atmas a lot lately (RR/Apoco being the first 2), and I recently had an enjoyable experience using Would-be King. With the added TP regain and the small amount of conserve TP (coupled with the 7 conserve TP from thunder belt), it's not unusual for me to have 20-25 TP after doing a WS, and I've often been able to WS 4+ times a minute.
Now, as I said, I don't yet have a kannagi, so I'm wondering if anyone else has had a chance to experiment with the knife. Is it as good as I think it is, or am I just easily amused?
