While reading through the other threads about the update someone mentioned NIN/BLU (twofli, nin/drk officially dead thread) and this really looks like it has potential. With this update we get access to Chain Affinity which gives us the option to self skillchain. Couple this with Futae for the magic burst maybe the damage will be worth-while or the enmity will spike. Once the cap hits 99 we will also have access to Refueling as well. I have to look into this more once I hit 80 but I like what I see.

Keep in mind, you'd have to close with a blu spell or lose all your TP in the process. Of course, that wouldn't prevent you from magic bursting.

You could do better self SCs by subbing SAM and using Sekkanoki. Not that you'd probably want to...

I want to see the added damage from Futae, Aisha, and the magic burst trait before saying it has no potential. True, the blue spell will be weak but depending on magic burst damage it may still be worth using. We would also get attack bonus and magic attack bonus for job traits plus the added stats from various spells. I personally get the vibe that SE is trying to build NIN into the front line enfeebler they originally designed NIN for and will be toying with this over the next couple weeks.
