yea and the enmity lost per hit when they changed Utsusemi was the end of ninja tanking too.

Please just shush until people can test this stuff. You are just fear mongering when you have no real idea of what is going on.

Direct Nerf to RDM tanking, indirect nerf to NIN/DRK tanking.

Good job SE! You just managed to kill the other two tanks on the game. I'm sure you're happy making PLD the #1 and only endgame tank now.

Oh wait, SE in all his wisdom has brought us WAR tanks! We are saved! (not).

At first I read

The white magic spell "Aquaveil" will now guard against spell interruption a set number of times.

Thinking that would be awesome for tanking as NIN/RDM for preventing those O-shi ichi getting interrupted moments. Then I read...

I really doubt SE would INCREASE the enmity of the spells and even if they did it wasn't needed. Sounds like the Mazurka update a few years ago (Though bard tank did seem kinda wrong). Maybe the enmity change won't effect us as much as I'm afraid it will, but if they do how do you plan on tanking anything worthwhile? Unless we get new hate holding ja's later or our new spell helps in some way we'll be stuck with /war, provoke, trick attacks, and ninjitsu and you'd be better off with a PLD even more so than now. Hopefully something we get 80-99 will actually be useful.

Meh, probably just equate to us running an extra cycle of spells, I'm not sweating it. And for the record, this will have a bigger effect on NIN/RDM than NIN/DRK as Stun isn't being adjusted.

If you havent seen it yet, there is a **** of alot of new gear with more enmity on it than we are currently able to use. Also, as stated previously, STOP fear mongering and wait till testing is done before you assume nin/rdm or nin/drk is ****

NIN/DRK nerfed
new NIN spell is epic fail
new NIN JA is epic fail

Very, very depressing. NIN has been my favorite job for a long time, but I may be switching to DNC main after this update.

Stun is still good enmity, and Hojo, Kurayami, and Aspir remain untouched enmity-wise. Still hurts a lot to lose Sleep's CE, and Bind was an excellent additional VE source. Bind's VE was a little more than halved.

Has anyone tried to NIN/DRK tank anything since update and has it greatly impacted effectiveness? I can see it slowing down how quickly you can build hate at the start of fights, but I could still see it being feasible.

It's OK folks, Blank Gaze, learn it, love it. 320 CE, 10 second recast, 25 MP. I had a feeling before the update NIN/BLU was going to be something that we should be looking at, now I'm convinced it is. Along with Blank Gaze, there are other high spike spells (longer recast times though), Sheep Song (now), Soporific (now), MP Drainkiss (level 84), Stinking Gas (level 88) and Geist Wall (level 92). I'll admit I don't know a lot about Blue Mage, but it looks promising...

Not dead. Not at all, I just tanked Omega today nin/drk and it was the same, maybe even easier due to me being lvl 76. My setup for the most part (not including gear swaps for ENM+, haste, etc) was:
main: hades sainti
ranged: ungur
head: arhat's +1
neck: eva torque
ear1: ethereal
ear2: colossus's earring
body: arhat's +1
hands: seiryu's kote
ring1: BQ ring
ring2: mermaid's ring
back: colossus's mantle
waist: warwolf
legs: ASA pants pdt-4 movement+8
feet: yasha/fuma/ninja kyahan+1

No death, nothing different. Everyone need's to stop freaking. NIN is so versatile and awesome!

Thanks Whirbomb, that is good news I suppose. I figured the loss of CE from Sleep would be a pretty huge hit.

I'm not to worried. When I tank /drk, I pretty much spammed poison/bind between stun's, and its always been enough. The bind nerf sucks, but we're probably still stronger than pre-yonin.
