NIN ACP reward choice (mathies please)Follow

So I looked for the post you guys had regarding the ACP augment choices, didn't see it. If someone could direct me to it that would be great, otherwise my question is...

My ninja is not 75, and I recently got D.Body abj, and if the bonus to ninja is significant enough I might be willing to take the slight downgrade to my monk.

I currently have Mirkegeon (Acc/Atk) I was wondering how that would compare vs Mirkainmail (Acc/DW). Or is there another option for Mirke that is even better for nin....?

Thanks.

Acc+DW is hands down the best for Ninja when accuracy is not capped. If you're at capped Acc without it then use Ninja Chainmail(+1). Shura body is pretty much **** for Ninja because we have access to Haub for DDing already.

It pretty much comes down to which job you want to suffer a little. Mnk is better off with the Mirkebergeon and Ninja is better off with the Acc+DW Mirke.

Honestly, since you have the D.Body already, I'd say that unless you basically have no intention of ever playing NIN at 75, use the D.Body for your Monk and make a Ninja Wardecors for your NIN.

Just my 2 bronzepieces.

I think I wasn't entirely clear with what I was asking. I do not have D.Body yet.. I have the D.Body abj, I have yet to decide if I am going to uncurse it or not. I'm curious how much better Mirkainmail is over Mirkegeon.

I don't have the math but NinMirke is roughly +1 Mirkebergeon for Ninja since from what I remember it is on par or a little better than Haub+1 for TP.

How good each one is will vary with your other gear, your buffs, and what you are fighting. Generally speaking, the 10 acc/3 DW should win for NIN.

You shouldn't need a whole lot of math to see the difference. 3% DW, with 75 NIN and Suppa earring, takes you from 35 to 38% delay reduction. Say you have a combined delay of 417 (Senj/Perdu). Without Mirke, your delay is 271, with Mirke its 259. Your DPS on your weapons (damage and delay combined with DW factored in) is going from about 15.5 to 16.2, or a 4.5% net increase in weapon DPS. Say you have 350 attack, a +10 attack increase is only going to bump your damage on normal attack up by about 2.9% or so. The more total attack you have, the less of a % increase you will gain from the +10 attack, but the DW enhancement will still provide the same % increase in DPS. In other words, the better geared and more heavily buffed you are, the less that 10 attack is going to matter, but the DW will still provide the same extra added speed.

Another thing to consider is what you use each job for. If you will only be using NIN to tank big things as NIN/DRK, you likely won't find Mirke to be all that useful. If you plan to use your MNK for damage and your NIN for tanking, maybe consider the MNK Mirke.

1) Make MKT-Haub and use it for TP/WS on MNK.
2) Use NIN AF+1 to TP in and MKT-Haub to WS for NIN.
3) ???
4) Profit

Take the gil you saved by not getting a NQ Haub + D.Body and either buy a Haub+1 for NIN WS, or something else (Fire Bomblet, DMG resist gear for NIN/drk no-melee tanking, a down payment on Cuch's mantle, etc.)

Isn't 10acc/5str > 2% delay reduction? Dunno about you but I try and get every bit of ACC I can for NIN.

I was in the same dilemma as OP, except I also had THF to add to the mix. I had the d.body abj from before Mirke existed. Eventually I just uncursed it, because I felt it was going to waste. It also helps to make my jobs look a little different, which while not really a point to consider - I do like mah aesthetics. I don't use mnk as much as thf or nin so I also figured it would be better to give those two the better enhancement.

Plus I'm just a sucker for speed+. Still like mah acc though.

Yes, the listed stats are better if you are using something like Pizza+1. The AF+1 is better if you eat something like squid sushi. On birds, you aren't eating pizza. On gods, you aren't eating pizza. On lots of HNM, you aren't even meleeing (and are using Arhat's+1). On things you low-man, the lost ACC doesn't matter because you're capped with pizza, making AF+1 better for them.

So at MMJSP, the Mirke DW piece is better. On paper (without context), it's better. In nearly every other situation, it's a waste of gil/opportunity. This revelation is why I'm requesting mine into something else.

Uncursing the D.Abj: Body for ninja is **** your gil away, but this is your game and the whole point is to spend your gil where it makes you happy. If it makes you happy to blow gil on a mannequin item, you should do so.

I threw mine away.

I'd uncurse the D.Body for your MNK, its the standard good MNKy piece that MNK's love to wear. When you see a boiler suit running around WG, you just know its another MNK.

Make an awesome TP piece out of the Mirke for your NIN and WS in Hauby(+1).

I haven't collected my ACP reward, its been ready for collection for months and months, but i wanted to save it in case I ever finished COR, which I doubt will happen now because I'm gonna leave ffxi in February for ST Online.
