Twashtar worth it, right?Follow

The honest non-sugar-coated truth is that yes, Ukon would be better. It's one of the strongest, if not the strongest Empyrean(s) out there.

That said, I have THF, DNC and WAR at 95+ and I chose Twash without even thinking twice and I haven't regretted it at all. I'm on THF most of my time in-game and DNC is amazingly fun so it wasn't a rough decision for me at all.

Twashtar itself is a double-edged sword dagger. On one hand, Rudra's is not the be-all end-all WS that some of the more popular Empies give you - you can't just auto-attack and spam Rudra Rudra Rudra like you can with Smite or Ukko's. Rudra's is amazing stacked but loses to Evisceration in Abyssea and DE/Evis/Exenterator outside unstacked most of the time (there are a few times when it's beneficial to Rudra's instead to take advantage of the Amtermath but that's up to you). On the other hand, it gives the job a lot more flexibility with our WS choices and opens up a whole new level of fun and variety. Plus it looks bad ass in a My Little Pony way and next to Mandau it's the best dagger we have access to.

Random thought, but Bully was also a godsend to Rudra's (Mercy as well), especially in solo/duo situations. Where before we had to chose between unstacked Rudra's and aftermath or a stronger WS, now we can have the best of both worlds every three minutes. I also like to TA the sh*t outta my mule, but that's neither here nor there

Twashtar is great. For thf.
Ukko is great. For war.

If your LS is telling you a Ukko war will out damage a Twash thf, they are right. But that has little to do with Ukko being better than Twash. It has to do with War having all the tools to destroy planets and thf not having that raw power natively.

War is just designed to dish out far more damage than (an equivalent) thf ever will. We cant get a 5hit build with absurd amounts of DA combined with retaliation and max haste+hasso 80% cap easily to be able to have 100TP before the WS animation finishes. We dont get all the JAs to directly enhance our damage. We dont get 2hander stat boosts for free atk/acc. We dont get everything from zerk to blood rage to boost our damage out of the water.

War is just a stronger DD than thf. Put a good weapon on (arguably) the strongest DD class in the game, of course its going to win compared to the sneaky/hate control/TH/Support DD Thf.

It really has nothing to do with Ukko being stronger than twash. Its comparing war to thf. In raw damage potential, war>Thf.

I have a twash, i love my twash. Am i a war? Nope. Will i out DD a ukko war? nope. Will i beat all the thfs? Yup. I wuv my thf, but im not delusional about fighting for the #1/2 slot for best DD in the whole world :P (thats what my Ryunohige drg is for!!! >:D)

Ukkon's getting hit with the nerf bat. The base crit rate is being brought in line with other crit based WS and some of the WAR abilities that made it so overpowered are getting a nerf too. It was just too good to last.
