Is /Nin still good or would /dnc be better so soloing xp? I see a little bit of both on other thfs that are soloing.

Really depends on what you are fighting. High Acc mobs, you might want to stay /nin
You got 2 options:
- /DNC and cure yourself with TP, therefore slowing down your kills
- /NIN and cure yourself with bloody bolts, therefore depleting your resources (ammo => materials => gil)
I prefer /DNC.

Yep depends on what your fighting.
If Farming in abyssea dont overlook /whm. If farming things with weak accuracy, I'll use /whm with MM and haste/cure/buff myslef, and I never have to stop or worry about dying. /dnc can use alot of TP to heal.
Save that TP for WS :P

I actually prefer option 2
With /dnc you're using tp which drastically slows down kill speed. With bolts not only are you using all your tp for damage, but you're curing yourself by doing damage...thus speeding up kills. Plus i usually have a ton on me and gil to buy them (or make my own) so personally cost isnt an issue. But if we're talking strictly abyssea, temp meds should always be your first line of healing.
I also like shadows for blocking single target nukes that would otherwise kill me.
