Basically, as you go down, you lose dps but you gain stats(dex/acc).

I was surprised to see the Auric still a strong contender, which is only true when you take into consideration the other 23% DW from traits and gear. Naturally, the ranged DW, as well as next update's DWIII, will only make this dagger even stronger. It's far from being obsolete. In fact, if you could use 2 Auric daggers, it will be our strongest DPS combination (bar Mandau/Twashtar) at 20.44212651 (given you take 2 accounts of DW).


I don't think there is clearly a 'best' this time around outside Mandau/Twashtar. I also don't have a clue which combination I'm going to use.

Yeah, yeah. That's nice 'n all, slap more stuff onto our to-do list. I'm more interested in what I'm going to do with my moogle hat now. I'm leaning more towards it being a fast cast hat. There are alternatives for WS hats: Heca/Maat for single hit, Maestria Mask/Issen Hachimaki when you need the acc. Hopefully, the body will also be an awesome TP piece so I can turn it into fast cast gear also. Legs are pretty much useless once I get the ocelot trousers.

AF aside: Despoil sucks less now. Actually landed 3 out of 4 times I tried it. Got a few def down's and a slow effect. I went ahead and casted slow1 over Despoil's slow and it landed, meaning either they stack (lol yeah right) or slow1 overwrites it. The mob died before either had a chance to wear.

I may have to reconsider my OAT dagger.....This is sex indeed. Of the rapid type.

Main:Auric 5% DW
Sub: Rapid sex 1% haste
Ammo:Boomerang X% DW (5?)
AF3 head:6% haste
Suppa: 5% DW
Mirke: 3% DW
Homam/dusk/Ocelot: 3% haste
Vbelt: 6% haste
AF3 Pants: 5% haste
Homamz ft: 3% haste

Thf/nin lv 90:
24% haste
DW3+13%+X%=38%+ (43%?) DW

The overall picture isnt looking quite so bad. As much as i would still love to have DW3 by 90, Thf/Nin with boomberang still gets DW4(??) (assuming boomberang is 5% like every other DW bonus in the game besides lolsarashi and mirke which states 3%) not to mention 24% haste without loosing the body. Dnc only has 5% DW over us (lv 90) and gives up the neck to do it. I <3 my love torque.

It is always frustrating to see other jobs get stronger DD gear but, the set isnt done yet, and does anyone honestly EXPECT to get the same calibur DD gear as jobs who exclusively do DD? Each individual update in a vacuum is rather sad, but the overall picture isnt quite as bleak.

Hell as much as it pains me to say, despoil is already growing on me. I did it 3 times yesterday and inflicted slow, evasion down and 1 miss. (tiny sample is tiny but those are actually decent debuffs). Jury is still out for me on despoil, but I am not HATING it right now >_>.

How can we bitch? We got a super sirocco, pants rivaling kitty pants we have been begging for for years, a ranged item with DW thats THF ONRY (no dnc nin sharing!), TH5(dont shoot! More drops is more drops), BADASS trick attack/eva feet, head piece of death, and even the new magian trials (elemental) arent bad at all. Only 1 trial for lv 85 (300 X family mob on X day)with +3 base damage, +2 to stat and +3-4 sub stat(atk/acc etc).

Oh and we might all get to toy around with mercy (abyssea onry sounds plausible). But hey, get your atmas with +50 str for mercy stroke.........brb gotta go rub off a few >_>

I am seriously considering quiting too... All hard works for last 6 years, are gone with these updates and I am not planning to stay forever here.

I guess SE indeed trying to scare people away to join 14!
