SE "fixes" despoil.Follow

I don't...I can't believe...this sh*t HAS to be intentional. I mean, it really isn't even POSSIBLE to miss the mark this badly unless you're aiming away from the target on purpose.

There's certainly nothing wrong with /having/ despoil, at least a version that's worth using. But certainly it should be a background trait/ability; not something to replace the job's progressive growth. Meanwhile warrior gets a straight buff. I thought the ability 'restraint' was rather clever. Strengthen hits but negate crits? I felt it gave the job some flexibility, especially in the KJ vs RR dept. And now they're just straight up buffing the job by giving the ability no drawback. Fine and all if you want to add straight-buff abilities that don't require brains to use; but at least do the same for other jobs.

So terrible. I don't know whether the devs just don't like THF, or if they actually think the job doesn't need a lot to be decent. I can be assured that there is a large disconnect between them and those who play the job seriously.

Ill give credit where credit is due. This is a much needed adjustment to despoil. Despoil is in its current state unusable. SE looks to be remedying that with both higher proc rate and unveiling of the enigmatic "debuff". This is a very good and needed change. I dont like the 'random' factor of it (ask bsts how much better control is over random just by the pet TP move choice with sic now), but this may actually end up having some actual utility now. All i can hope is by "increasing the rate" they mean it works regardless of actual steal success.

Obviously this does little to quell the unrest in thf world as we can see by the general feeling around here, but I cant knock this teaser. This is an overdue adjustment to despoil. Tiny thumbs up to SE.

Personally not going to complain about a bonus, no matter how meager. It needs to be able to apply the debuff on any mob. Not just things with items to steal. Almost *all* mobs worth a damn have nothing to steal. I can't think of any that do.

We're still 5 days off the update, so hopefully they're saving the best job additions for last.

The thief new trait "Dual Wield" will have an increased tier beginning from III at level 83.

I rather they fix that >.>;

This is porbably the biggest reason despoil fix is even more of a lolupdate.

I'm still complaing about it. It shouldn't share a recast timer with steal. It's not even worth its OWN 5 minute timer. Its a joke.

"PS2 limitations" can't be adding all sorts of new skills that can be cycled through now can they?

In all seriousness though, I am happy that they recognized that this needs to be fixed... I have used the ability 3 times since it became available and don't know that it ever actually did anything. I am not going to complain that we need DW3, because I think THF (when played well) really doesn't need it to function. I think the fact that they thought giving DW1 at 83 enhances the job is a joke though...

I really hope we get enhanced Triple/eva/something useful... I would love to see auto-regain or an actual increase crit% job trait... something that actually enhances the job.
