At least the Mandau has 'Attacks will occasionally do 3 times normal damage' going for, +Atk and poison damage to a lesser extent. I feel it will get more trials in the future for the later level cap rises. Nothing is keeping you from pairing it with the Mandau.

You just do two more magian trials (in addition to the 2 that already exist) Kill 1500 mobs with your relic/mythic WS then kill 2000 mobs with your mythic/relic WS. For Mandau it's birds and then plantoids. After that the moogle hands you a lvl 80 weapon.
The lvl 80 relics are all exactly 1 DMG higher than their Empyrean counterpart. I don't know why they did this rather than just increase the augments. I guess SE just doesn't like anything having higher stats than a Relic.

I personally feel kind of insulted that Mandau caps out at 43 now and Apoc is 117 and Spharhai +34. Don't know what in the hell they were thinking. They could have relatively buffed weaker relics, like Kikoku, and left the ones that are fine (like Bro'vura) with a slightly more modest marginal increase.

Thanks Lobi. When I came home I picked up the new trail. 1500 kill shots on Aquan.............and then 2000 kill shots on dragons. Fun! Not exactly what I had in mind when I got my Mythic. Would have been nice if SE came up with something more creative. Like a BC fight of some sort. Balrahn version two, mixed with some VNM or Walk of Echos maybe? Anything but killing easy prey mobs over and over and over.
But overall I can't complain. SE closed the cap a bit more between mandau and Vajra this update. I don't need extensive math to see that. When I am done I will post some numbers again to see what gap remains.

They should just let you dual wield relic and mythic with access to the stats and WS of both. If you can actually upgrade both then you deserve to be able to.

43, wtf... Although to be honest even if it stays at 39, Mercy is still overpowered comparing to a 43 dagger with other WS.
Do we get any significant +str gear that's in other slots?
I don't expect anything can beat heca but more +str on other slots can boost Mercy Stroke.

After ~1300 unstacked Mercy Strokes on EP/DC rabbits and tigers, I am getting the impression that unstacked Mercy Stroke doesn't suck quite as bad as it used to.
My DMG has been consistently in the 800-1000 range and on average it seems to be doing better than Dancing Edge. About 10% of the time I get 400-500, but I also sometimes get 1200-1300.
I vaugly remember I used to get 100 or less about 50% of the time if I tried to use it unstacked.

Thew Bomblet and Fire Kila would give me an extra 8 STR or STR+70 (75 with food)
I'm going to get this as a stopgap till I can upgrade Twashtar (which should hopefully have better augments by then)

Rabbits in Cape Terrigen and Spiders outside Whitegate which I did a ton of for my first and second trial before the level cap increase.
There is no way you were averaging 100 damage on unstacked MS unless you were naked, and probably not even then. If that were the case your stacked MS wouldn't even break 700.

People tend to be inaccurate when posting about their dmg on a forum. There was a Thf the other day on another forum who WS's in suppa and velocity earring and was saying his average SA+DE is 1300. Average on what?

To the question "has the damage formula of unstacked Mercy Stroke being tweaked?", I guess your answer would be NO.
Its been a few years but I really remember it totally sucked before. I also recall hearing this from quite a few other THF who used it. It is still unreliable and can return poor results, but it seems better than before.

Depending on buffs, etc, it can hit for 100 and it can hit for upwards to a thousand (or more if you get incredibly lucky). /Nin, you can miss the first hit and strike a single offhand hit and do pathetic damage. I think my record for sh*tty damage was like 60-something. Or you can get 2 triple procs and land them all, giving you a 6-hit.

We were talking about the kind of mobs you would grind your relic trial out on, i.e. EP. On EP mobs my MS does do around 700-1000 usually.
Now if you are talking about higher than EP, that's different, but we weren't talking about that.

Well so far, on Brasscaps, on ~60 parsed WS's, my max is 799, my average is 645. Gear is swapped to WS, and I'm WSing at about 15% of the mobs HP. Most, if not all, of my WS's are landing only a single hit. An Offhand hit wouldnt add an extra 100-300 damage, that you're claiming it does.
