I haven't heard of Despoil working on NM's and I haven't been able to despoil anything away from one myself yet either. If NM's are immune to despoil then it wouldn't be possible to use it on dynamis mobs because they're all considered "NM" status. However if Despoil does work on NM's then it may be possible to take stuff like M silver and whatnot. But that would be way too powerful (just think of despoiling relic armor away from standard mobs in dynamis) and you can see why "impossible to gauge" status matters. I think NM's have Despoil immunity; or at least the item part which is all that really matters to me since the debuff is random and too short lived to exploit.

It is possible to steal singles in dyna and someone told me once that you can steal 100's from the statues but it never worked for me. As far as despoil working on dyna monsters, ive not done dyna to check.

But seriously, I've tried to ride the timer at every chance to test it out during trials and farming etc...for my eforts I got 1 poison dust from a tonberry, 1 puk egg forma puk and a pot of hunny from a bee. Total. Since the JA was relased.

This is bullsh*t.

Don't know if anyone else has tried using this much in sea but last night I was able to Despoil Luminion Chips from Aw'Grah and Luminian Tissue from Aw'Euvhi's in The Garden of Ru'Hmet. Maybe all the organs are now Despoilable from their respective families? I'd sure like to land it on a Yovra if so...

You can still typically get something within 1-3 runs even with the poorest luck and 0 steal gear using Steal however, with despoil this isn't the case, both with statues and regular dynamis mobs. It also seems to be a lower rate than a not-gear-enhanced on regular mobs as well, so even those of us tracking our % and the items ganked, from what mob, etc are beginning to head back to steal only.

As opposed to bitching over and over and over about it on this and the feedback forums (that are probably seldom read by anyone actually from SE), I decided to write a (more courteous) version of this feedback on despoil (as well as the state of our steal abilities in general) and send it directly via the official square enix feedback and suggestions form on their web site.

I encourage every one of you to send your feedback on despoil, (aura)steal, or steal abilities in general etc. to this page. Forgive me if you already have, or already know where to find this link. I'm not terribly bright. I didn't know where it was so it took some digging and I wanted to provide it for those that didn't know how to find it.

At this point all we have is our voice. Often we assume SE hears us and knows what we want/need. Maybe they don't. But I suspect if enough of us ask for something to be done, they will listen.

Past times I'd just say F*ck it and chalk it up to "It would be nice but SE'll never do it." However, they seem to be in the process of adjusting our job. It is my feeling that if there is a time that a change is possible, now is as good a time as there has ever been.

I encourage all of you that are furstrated with this like I am to ask for it (nicely) at this link.

I was thinking that a bit after I posted this. Think we could pool together a consensus as to what the job needs and then get everyone to send it in?

Go for it, the only problem I see are people who think THF's DD is still on par with 2H or those who want to make us the next SAM. I'd participate in any way possible for sure though.

Except that you'll never see that because the minimum accuracy rating is 20%. The game mechanics work for everything, even monsters. The most you'd ever see is 80% evasion rate, and that's if you were fighting something your level or lower due to level correction factors.

If you compare THF evasion to other classes against the same target, THF really is leaps and bounds ahead. There's just some things were that "leaps and bounds" isn't enough of a difference to matter. Very high level foes being one of those "things".

I'm on board. If we work up something viable I'd be happy to submit it in feedback. Things I see issues with....

1. I never use Perfect Dodge. I think it needs something to make it useful, but maybe thats just me

2. Despoil is not a usable JA currently. It needs help and that includes putting it on a seperate timer from Steal. By sharing the timer it makes our AS merits less usable. I don't think that should be the case, but that is just my opinion also.

That is all for now. I'll think some more about this though.

Actually we are the only DD class that has a 2 hour that doesn't enhance DMG, even if you're one of the THF "is a support job focusing on hate guys" it's still worthless, the other support jobs' two hours increase damage just indirectly. (Wild Card and Soul Voice are win.) Perfect Dodge is.. Well, I haven't used it in years really, as flee serves the same purpose 98% of the time. Pulling - Log off on the gears in SSR is it, and a fanatic's drink is MILES better than PD.

SE themselves mentioned PD was worthless and needed fixing in Vanafest 2005 or 2006.

It also allows the effective use of a multi-hit weapon with souleater, so I'm not sure I'd put it anywhere near Blood Weapon, though yeah, I forgot about that one.

Oh, despoil is fail, steal is also fail, went to Caederva mire to try steal some lesser chigoes, after 10 fails i gave up. (10 fails of steal with +7 steal gear)

Despoil should steal TP and land a Plague effect.

I'd be happy if despoil had a high probability of landing plague (like, aura steal probability). Tp steal would be a nice bonus. Leave the despoilable items in place, and just steal TP if there's no item to steal (most endgame targets).

So yeah, I agree with lobi.

Also, let us know if the affect lands or not -.-. 5 minute /ja with a proc rate ~5%, that's hilarious SE.

I'm going to try Despoil out in Salvage tonight although I seriously doubt it will accomplish anything. Even if I could get a cell with it, it's reliability is likely so low that it's not worth bothering with.
