>.< I just "accomplished" dying to Kreutzet with no competition and being forced to watch it de-spawn seconds before my BRD/WHM rushed into the camp. That was fun.

Go, go Utsusemi wearing immediately after the pull, and then eating Stormwind 30 seconds into the fight! I'm so pissed...

He's fairly easy to hold if you have help arriving imminently. The trick is to claim and not engage. Just stack evasion gear like mad like you normally would and macro in your haste and fast cast if you have it for shadows. Pretty simple technique really, and if he goes on a random, mad shadow-stripping frenzy, pop on your rogue's and flee around the tunnel until your recast is up. 2 hour as a last resort.
Giving him TP while holding is a mistake.

That sucks, I'm so sorry ><. Were you soloing it waiting for your BRD?
Just to give you a bit of hope, I claimed 3/3 with my THF friend and we got 2/3 drops. Easy duo and fun. So go grab a RDM (I'm sure any other healer type job would work) and camp him for a few hours. The good part about camping him is that you can AFK anytime and come back during wind weather lol.

My first Kreutzet went much the same Ang... I figured I had almost capped EVA (like 3 away) and +18 or something in gear at the time. 3 hits and shadows were gone, I was backwards tanking to wait for help. Help was coming and I had shadows up again.. they get stripped again, twice... both timers down, I drop to red and hit 2 hour. First member to show up was brd... hits me with double mambo just as PD fades, I avoid a few hits, but he takes down shadows again and hits me during recast and quickly snuffed the bard... he stood there for a minute and then weather left just as about 8 people show up to help... I had been sitting there for 5 hours at that point waiting for weather... Evil evil evil bird...

On a side note: I got my Denali Kecks the other day... stupid floor 40 refuses to drop the Askar again though... First run we got a pair and 3 of us want still and we are now 2 Goliard and 2 Denali and only 1 Askar in 8 farming runs. I know that isn't bad for drops... but I want my Askar lol.

I camped ToD last night, and actually got the claim blindly. Tanked it almost flawlessly with a really good RDM. No drop, naturally. It couldn't end *that* easily, noooooooooooooooooo...

Today I go back in the window with another buddy, a very well-geared THF/NIN, figuring we can duo him just fine. After all, he only Stormwinded once last night. It can't be *that* bad, right? We're camping and it pops as expected, I nab it, and tell my shell. Suddenly the people that had better things to do prior to the pop say they'll join me. Figures, right? I ask them to hurry just in case, and as I get to the tunnel, Utsusemi wears and the bird cuts me in half instantly. I 2hour, put shadows up, and seconds later he Stormwinds. We had no healer yet.

I drop, my buddy tanks it, gets it to 30% or so, and as he dies and it de-spawns, people show up. Story of my life. At least I have the time for the new window, I suppose. /sigh

You think thats bad? When I camped Kreutzet for 6 hours waiting for the force pop, wind weather lasted 45 seconds, and he popped and depopped. Can you imagine the anger? I still can't. Don't EVER go afk, even for 20 seconds.

He ended up popping the next day 7 hours after window closed, and we proceeded to rape him. TH4+bird=gimmeallyoshit.

I suppose I'm insanely lucky. Sure, I wiped once, and sure I went 1/2 on the SK, but I did get his ToD within two hours of a blind camp (without a prior ToD), and I managed to claim it three times in under 24 hours. >.> All things considered, not bad.

Today I begin my quest for an Assault Jerkin. If I can tank Kreutzet I figure I can handle Ose. With help. :/

I tanked Ose before Kreutzet, actually. One word of advice: Ose's accuracy is insane. I duo'd him (barely) with a WHM friend. The paralyze/silence spam wasn't horrible - but his accuracy made living almost impossible in a full evasion kit. Admitedly, my evasion kit back then wasn't amazing, but it was pretty evasion intensive and he STILL ripped through shadows like a psychopath.

I imagine with a BRD/WHM he'd be a walk in the park (Double Mambo, Elegy and status cures ftw~).

Duo'd Ose with a whm the other day. Wore 23 eva skill, 23 eva, 15 or so agi. Popped blind bolt every time it wore. I'm pretty sure I was at the eva cap. Had little problem keeping up my shadows. Decided to go with one dagger and sub Tatami. My Blau Dolch, Dragon Harness, and Dusk gloves are all loaned out too.

This had better turn out a bit like my Kreutzet camp. >< I get to LoO, pull Toramas for 2 and a half hours nonstop without any aggro, and then the second Ose pops and I shoot him, a nearby Goblin Alchemist "magically" turns around as I take off with the cat in tow.

Eating three Diagas while your backup healer tanks the Goblin is a fantastic way to wipe shadows and eat dirt, by the way. Thankfully nobody else is around, so we're going to try again in about 5 minutes...

Edit: Had to steal it from a BST who claimed it while we were healing. Took a bit of work, but got it back, tore it down, and no drop. Figures. I hate NMs... Maybe he'll pop again in another four hours.

Way to jump to conclusions. The BST was already wearing an AJ, and wasn't partied at all. He laughed at us after the fight to add insult to injury. I'm not the type to take camping personally on a regular basis, but if you kill an NM you need not be fighting in the first place while others are desperate for its rare/ex drop, then "all's fair..."

We hung around for a second pop (each one took approximately three hours ><) and went 1/2 on the AJ. I gave it up to my DRG friend who helped me get my SK last night. Going for another one is almost more punishment than I can bear, but I will get mine in the next few days.

Ose was probably one of my easiest NM fights ever. Walked into LoO to camp, killed one cat, was resting and Ose popped right in front of me (there was another pair camping him). I pop a sleep bolt on him, it lands, my RDM friend enfeebled the heck out of it and he just let me fight it tossing me status cures as needed. 2 minutes later I had my AJ. Equipped it, waved to the people that were camping as we walked by (they never even saw us come in, or saw us fighting Ose lol, so they waved back completley clueless we had just walked away with an Ose kill)... we then tried to figure out what to do for another 2 hours, as we thought it would take way longer for him to pop lol

-_- I have almost never seen Ose pop in under three hours. I've camped him for just shy of nine before without him showing up, as well. I gained roughly 8,000 limit points off of Decent Challenge mobs in LoO yesterday (in a party that had between 2-4 people in it at all times) and only saw him twice. I hate, I hate, I hate that NM.

Merit #2 {mine}, at least...

I spent over a week trying to get my friend his AJ for his drg. One time he went well over 8 hours since we got there. We don't even know when he last spawned or when he spawned again because we fell asleep before he even popped. The part that pissed me off most about camping him with my friend was that RMT were camping him non-stop for some god damn stupid reason and kept getting him -.-; The one time we were alone were those 8+ hours when he didn't spawn.

Eventually he popped and we got claim, duo was pretty easy with full time haste from my friends 60ish whm/blm. There was one point when ose just haxed.. and hit down like 9 of my shadows in a row, paralyzed while I was trying to recast, and continued to hit me. I was spamming utsusemi: Ni non-stop and eventually got it off. He had missed me non-stop when I had no shadows and had enough hp to die to one more hit. Swear I had a guardian GM watching over me. My friend being in the same room as me helped with our communication as well. Smiley: lol

With that kill my friend finally got his AJ, bringing my drop rate on Ose to 8/9. I vowed I was never going to camp him again. Ever. If someone sees him up I'll come to help fight and/or give TH, but camping is out of the question.

He's unquestionably the worst NM I've ever camped, as far as pop reliability goes. Maybe I was stupidly lucky, but even with my aforementioned sordid Kreutzet tale, I still saw three pops within a 24 hour period, and all due to a random trip to Cape Terrigan without ToD.

I've camped Argus before, and he's miserable fail for most people, but I got insanely lucky and landed my PCA in a grand total of under 5 hours—also off of a blind camp. Luck's goofy like that.

Ose, however, can go climb a wall of d!cks.

I tend to have a lot of luck with weird NM's as long as I have helped people with them in the past. Charby I helped a friend with about a month before I needed mine. I asked if hime (RDM) and his GF (nin) would come down to camp him with me. We got there and another PT was just leaving, so we thought we must have missed him by mere minutes. We are just about to leave when he pops. We pull, kill and I walk out with my joy-toy for Bard in about 10-12 minutes.

I went to go get the Shaman cloak NM the other day (actually just wanted Stonega II), killed the placeholder... waited 16 minutes and NM popped. Took about 3 minutes to kill, and he dropped Cloak, Quake and crystal... no Stonega :(... but I'll take the cloak lol. I have helped farm this NM about 5 times in the past and seen the cloak 2 times before.

Went to go Get Moldy earring right after that. Showed up and waited almost 45 minutes before he popped. Lots of competition... he popped, group got claim and no drop... I got ToD, I was set (I love these NM's). so I put on timestamp and count to when I need to go back. I go to play FFXII. I come back just as window opens and get claim, kill... no drop... so much for luck... I go back to playing but end up going out for the night. Come back and see his ToD in chat log and set timer, but realize I need sleep... so I wait until morning, look at last ToD when I wake up and he should pop in about 30 minutes. I grab breakfast and sit there... another THF shows up. They ended up with claim, but Mystic actually gets them in red and they flee. I manage to grab him and kill and get earring. :)

I really should go try to camp Argus... but I have never helped anyone with him, so I bet he'll be a pain

With the kind of luck you seem to have with NMs, you'll probably walk right in and find him strolling around in a circle, or something. ; ; Even so, I would figure that very few campers (A) are dedicated enough to take a serious run at Argus, leaving you alone more often than not, and (B) are either camping afk overnight for ToD, or (C) only checking widescan every 5 minutes or so to avoid burnout. He's time consuming, but not nearly as horrible as people make him out to be, provided you're patient and consider the payoff worth the annoyance.

Actually, that's how I found Argus, haha. Was helping a new guy in my LS with his RSE, stumbled onto him, claimed, killed no dorp. The kid couldn't understand why I was asking him to pose for screenshots and stuff, it was really cute.

The Ose fight itself I found to be pretty easy as long as you come prepared. The camp, however, is mind-numbing... and for some reason I never get parry skill ups there.

My accomplishment for the pool: Got an MPK attempt on me while I was fighting Pallas... killed Pallas from 50% and the two gigas that were trained on me without a problem, and dinged 196 parrying in the process. Woo.

Just wiped to Ose again the other day, only to watch randoms claim it and not get the drop. It seems I just can't tank him without Elegy or Slow. Even with capped evasion and a Torque and earrings on, he's too accurate for me. ; ;

On the bright side, I'm 7k away from my third dagger merit now, and halfway saved up for my Dusk Trousers. <3 I duod some Greater Colibri last night at a rate of about 10k/hr. with my buddy Aanalaty. It ruled.

Also tanked Guivre for a solid 2 minutes w/o Perfect Dodge, was FUNE, was right after I capped my evasion on Elder Goobbues.

And capped Triple Attack merits, 5/5. With that and Brutal, looking at 25% added attacks from Double/Triple Attack only. Crazy.

Not the most impressive item in game but it's still the best trick attack piece for standalone trick attack, Today I got my Denali Jacket, and the best part about it is it's REALLY fashionable. I look GOOD wearing it, just like my homam legs.

So all in all a decent sunday to say the least.

I just got my Sirroco Kukri off of Kreutzet! Like 5 minutes ago.

My record was 1/4. Everytime I fought him, it was WELL after his pop window closed. 2nd one was 15 hours 9 minutes after ToD, 3rd was 16 hours 9 minutes, and the 4th was a whoppin 19 hours after ToD. Wind Weather was just not kind to us this weekend. 4 NPC levels, 8 Merits, 300k gil made LS wide, and some very happy Leather crafters from all the Manticore and Cockatrice parts later, I finally got the damn thing.

Kreutzet really is a bitch...

Today was an utterly phenomenal day.

1) Duofarmed Sea Serpent Grotto with a good buddy for four hours. Gained 7,600 limit points off of Decent Challenge sahagins while racking up 200,000 gil.

2) "Your Dagger Skill modification rises to level 5."

3) "Angina defeats Ose...You find an assault jerkin on Ose."

4) Received an invite to a Nyzul Isle Assault static. {I'm interested.}

5) Got a LS member his Moldavite Earring. 1/1 on Mysticmaker Profblix. :D

6) Dusk Trousers {mine}! My attack gear's about as optimized as it will ever get from the AH. When /WAR with food, Berserk, and Warcry, my attack is now 660. O_o

7) Parrying skilled up to 149, as well! Slowly but surely...

I have everything I want from the boss (and I want a lot of stuff...) but Usu body now, everything free lotted, to say how bad it has been...
My last accomplishement as thf... well nothing recent really, salvage and omega are so stingy the game isn't funny anymore. If I could get my dagger attestation tongiht that would pay for it, but I doubt it, as we will be again less than 2 party in Beaucedine... If we can enter in the first place given how crowded this zone is....

I think my THF knife ran out of charges... 1/8 now on floor 60 Nyzul. We actually had our MNK tank throw a hissy fit after the second win with no drop (both were horrible fights... cerberus spamming that stupid Stoneskin/blaze spikes move and the Hydra going invincible happy and gaining back heads for regain... we had 19 minutes when we reached him, we got 30 second warning when leaving...). We ended up moving up to floor 65 on that disk as our 3rd run and doing a 4 boss to see if we could with 5... naturally go Aspid, (for our melee burn style group) and still won... of course no drop again... I am starting to think that Nyzul is broken again... we are 2/11 for our last 3 sets of runs... I am going to die trying to get this Askar set done :(

The accomplishment you ask? I didn't break anything or drin heavily during the run... trust me... that is a HUGE accomplishment lol.

I've found Nyzul to be pretty streaky for my group, don't let it get you down. We went on a 9-run, no boss drop streak not long ago.

I believe I am currently 1/40ish on Denali legs dropping. (I didn't win lot on drop, which was on the second 40-floor run I ever did.)

Of those 40 wins, I'd say less than ten had no loot. So we have a lot of goliard and askar pants.

I didn't mention it cos I didn't wanna throw salt on wounds, but yeah, I ended up with Askar feet for my mannequin because the other 5 people already had pairs. I don't think Denali Jackets can drop anymore, since we all got one. Denali pants have eluded me too, but I've decided to just ignore them so we can focus on our 100 farming... Currently got my disc @ 80 (already one 100 floor clear on me) and our backup disc at 85. Better stock up on warp scrolls orz

20 was all askar/denali: 8 Askar, 7 Denali, 2 Goliard - more runs than I can count... but are 'done' with the second goiard drop.
40 (so far) 2 Askar, 2 Denali, 1 Goliard - roughly 15 runs
60 (so far) 1 Goliard - 9 runs

I talked a little with the group today. To ease tension a little we are just going ot do a straight run to 100 over the next sets. See some new NM's, be able to farm any floor... and just enjoy the play and not the drops for a bit.

Haven't touched my thf in a couple months.

Friend was in SSG getting ToD on Charybdis. It pops, a JP group (nin brd rdm) claim, and wipe at 80%. a 12man Spanish allaince claim, and wipe at 30%. JP group unweakens, claims at 30%, and wipes at 25%. Charybdis recovers to full HP.

While this is happening, I gear up my thief with whatever gear I could muster and hightail it out to SSG with a bard and white mage friend in tow.

The four of us bring it down to 50% easily when another ninja and white mage from our linkshell show up and help. Even with spamming Provoke and Blade: Jin, the ninja couldn't pull hate of me, so he just swapped in his DD gear and went at it.

I tanked Charybdis on my thief from 100% to 0%. Only hiccup was when i was out of Utsusemi tools and had to pop a bag in the middle of the fight!

Moral of the story, don't fuck with thief tanks! :D

Gear Consisted of:
Thief's Knife (only non rare/ex dagger i had on me lol)
Sirocco Kukuri
Bibiki Seashell
Optical Hat
Evasion Torque
Brutal Earring
Suppanomimi
Scorpion Harness
Dusk Gloves
Ulthalam's Ring
Raja's Ring
Amemet Mantle +1
Swift belt
Rogue's Culotte (Bravo's were on a mule)
Dusk Ledelsens

edit: It was also my first time ever tanking Charybdis too lol

It's certainly not Homam by any means, but I'm preparing to level up my NIN a bit for CoP missions and did a straight three-day camp in Castle Oztroja, landing a total of 19 claims on Mee Deggi and Quu Domi across the span.

1/10 Ochimusha Kote, 1/9 Sarutobi Kyahan. Go me!

After camping Kreutzet with 3 other (of which 2 also wanted the dagger) dubious Singapore guys, we went 3/4 on claims, always dropped, everyone happy.
