Grats. I honestly think Homam board shorts are one of the coolest looking leg pieces out there. Definitely prettier than my previous rose-pink colored Barbarossa's.

Also, we did SE Apollyon last night, and I got a 1770 damage SADE. It was an 8 hit, but I had no buffs except meat. I guess those mobs on the first two floors have very little defense. Was fun though.

My first piece ever, Joined a JP Dyna shell, man it's hard to know what to do (...and really boring) But yeah, more DEX, I'm up to +44 so it's looking more decent =]

When I came back to the game, I helped out my roomie on the Evisceration WSNM (Baronial Bat, I'm pretty sure is the NM). I felt like crap about it, though, since I had sold off all my gear, so I really only had my TP gear left since it's all ra/ex. I only had a Behemoth Knife and Sirocco, though, so I was totally expecting to near-nothing for damage. We had a PLD tanking it and around 90% he uses Atonement, I SASB and it must have proc'd TA twice because the bat immediately went down to about 10%. It was one of those moments I wish I could screen shot, cuz with absolutely no DEX gear aside Rajas it was something like a 2500 SASB. Safe to say, I tanked the rest of the mob (Thank you Perfect Dodge!), but I was just stunned going "Oh God - that would have been so much cooler with DEX gear ; ;". I probably could have killed it off from 90% if I was geared properly.

Don't know if it's really an accomplishment, but my first real weekend back in the game since the semester ended was awesome. Did salvage on saturday and sunday. Saturday marduk body 35 dropped, followed by either 35 mardukhead or morriganfet, can't remember. :p Then on sunday 35 morrigan body dropped, which we sold for 5M and was split between the 7 of us who were there, and then we got my 35 skadi feets! (Still need the 25 piece :/) And then later that sunday we did odin, which dropped ebody, abody, and hofud.

Love torque get.

Wish it dropped in 1-2 weeks time, after LS bank payout is calculated ; ; cost many points.

Trio'd Ungur. Setup was Thf(me), Pld(friend), and Brd(me 2boxing). Tried killing it Bst style first but that was impossible. A guy that asked if we needed help during fight ended up calling his LS down to kill since he knew we'd wipe. So after we job changed, we get back and sure enough they fought it, and wiped in a timely manner ^^ So after buffs and NPC call from Pld friend we got to work and after a while, we won.

After reading on Wiki people saying this fight is a breeze, it sure didn't feel like it! Very happy to get a new Boomerang!

The salvage run last night was a story in and of itself. Apparently compared to the little rampart Nm's like gate widow, skirmish and zebra zahcary, peryton is very much like the original you would find in Valley of Sorrows, IE MEAN O.o. This guy takes much less damage than the other rampart nms, and has a LOT more hp. His wing cutter does quite a bit of damage as well. We were low manning last nights run with only 6 people, and within the first 3 pops out came Peryton. It came and beat our faces in and dropped my freya's jerkin only to follow up with not one, but TWO more Peryton's within the next 10 pops. OH LORD was THAT fun. I had to use perfect dodge, and with the tragapons we quickly got overwhelmed. We ALL used our 2 hours as TWO MORE Perytons popped by the 40% mark. I saw hundred fists, soul voice, chainspell and the works. IT WAS AWESOME!!! I have never seen ACTION like THAT in my entire experience on a 35 piece salvage nm... never!!!

What's even more radical, in addition to the first Peryton that dropped my Freya's Jerkin the 3rd also dropped not ONLY a freya's jerkin, but the Marduk's level 35 leg at the SAME time. We got two level 35's from that guy, and at about 10% life remaining we were forced to demolish the rampart and retreat before we wiped due to no more HP MP and dead people >.>. And despite this we STILL managed to take out Long-Bow with only two of our 2 hrs from revitalizers with 2 minutes to spare, spammy homing missles and all. That was the best salvage night EVER!! Then I camped the auction for ingots and accidentally fell asleep, and only turned in the parts with 20 minutes before JP midnight hit so I got almost instant gratification. What a night indeed




Actually that's not true. I remember your Odin dropped you a N legs and you got hecatomb subligar before you did N head, whereas while I have my heca cap +1 I still had dusk trousers. It's been a while and I was planning to just shooting straight for N legs myself, but until you fight him it's hard to realize just how many Abjurations Odin CAN load, and with my work schedule I won't make every Odin. I'm expecting to "probably" get the paper by December, but in the meantime I found a nice little substitute.

Now I'm poor again, but content.

That was most of the savings I had, so now I have to start almost anew. I left some money to craft with, but between the 12 imperial wootz ingots and those Oily Trousers, that took its toll. The consolation is I can resell my Dusk for 500k, but then when I finally DO get my paper I'll wanna try for another hq subligar. I sold my other cursed harness -1 (my second) months ago, which as predicted I got tired of looking at it and not being able to wear it. That puts my accuracy with no outside help at a whopping 386. Using greater birds as a gauge, that's 89% accuracuy on level 81 birds and 84.5% on level 82, averaged to 86.75 across the camp. I only wish I knew what kind of accuracy bonus you got for using dancing edge at 100% tp, but even when feint is down my accuracy is taken care of now, so that's pretty nice.

I also still need my Mirke Wardecors (using skadi's as a temporaty tp fix for now). Due to playtime and scheduling after wiping my first ACP 11 at 1% hp I never got a chance to redo it. So there's something else to do if I get a chance.

Got Homam Gambieras today. Just missing legs now which are very common for our shell.

Also, we did omega 2 sundays in a roll counting today and we got 2 Homam Bodies.

In a month of 3 omegas and 1 ultima, we got 2 Homam Bodies and 1 Nashira body.

I'm sitting on all three Skadi Pieces at the moment, with the 10k in ISP coins, and at 8/12 Imperial Wootz Ingots. Acquiring the gil for the IWIs is real slow going though. Haven't had much luck on BCNMs or mining the Khroma ores or anything else atm. I'm slowly climbing that 12 mil hill to get this done. In fact, i've pretty much sold everything i've had to get this piece done. Bye Dusk Hands and Feet, bye HQ SH, see you soon Blau Dolch. Was tempted to sell my Z xBow but then how would I outclaim the gilsellers :P. Before anyone says "Why would you sell all your stuff." Well, my Salvage group is @#$% hot and I want to finish the piece as soon as possible as a favor to them. We worked hard for it and I want to wear it proud. Where I thought that "Meh, Freya's Jerkin, i'm months away from the full set...I can farm the gil later." I had no idea I would go 1/1 on Peryton. FFXI has a funny way of being; what is the word... Ironic? When you want something it never drops and when you think you're months away from getting what you've wanted it drops to your inventory. If you are doing salvage and low on cash my little bit of advice is this:

Farm your gil NOW! Dont wait!

FFXI might just place you in the situation I am today.

When you can't buy anything else, it becomes worth it. The only pure buyable item I can think of that I have left to buy is toredors ring. Everything else is ex. :/

1.Yesterday, we did Odin. Nlegs dropped! And i got them!

2.Promtly redoubled my Heca legs -1 efforts and made an HQ this morning!

But there has been some discussion on the value of adding damage but slowing down for both SA/TA. For example I use suppa on trick attack over drone, but thats more to do with inventory space than the 5% DW. similarly, I could use denali cap instead of skadi mask (-3 atk, +4% haste) but I dont.

Primarily i stopped caring about the slow down because it is probably a wash or so miniscule in merits i dont care, but i DO care about max damage in most of the rest of the game. For example in salvage, im usually pulling. So less time meleeing, more time running around. Sometimes i just pull, land SA/TA/WS and go pull again. Chariots are /ra TP and SA/TA/WS onry. On tough things like HNM, most of your damage will skewed to your SA/TA/WS as your melee hits will be pretty piddly. In virtually everything besides merits/ep farming, I would encourage max damage SATAs. Add to that it is an incredibly SMALL part of your overall damage in merits, id rather just stick the damage and not fret.

This isnt like +2 acc small. Its +damage at crit power vs a PIECE of 1 attack round, and only the difference between them. Also every 30 sec at BEST. (some SA/TA are stacked with WS, some finish off a mob, sometimes you sit on timers etc) The difference is going to be so ridiculously small in the total damage of a parse, i cant imagine it actually mattering considering it has minuscule effect in a perfect world (which we arent in and therefore the difference is going to be much smaller in practice)

I suppose if its found to have any significance in merits, i can always have a specific macro setup just for non-stop melee situations but we will see.

Hmm Thf update...umm...nothing changed since this morning...so...This is all i got.

I added my hecatomb to my damage spreadsheets, updated my macros (both thf and Drg) and scratched it off my wish list! That last part fellt GOOOD!

after 2yrs+ of lightly camping kreutzet, i finally got to fight him a few min ago!

normally i hate askin friends to camp a possible long spawn cuz i don't wanna waste their time. so i just went to c. terrigan once every month or so to duo/trio and hope for a pop.

watched it get killed twice with drops and just got the claim on my thf ^^ i miss the NM campin days of old where my heartbeat in every inch of my body lol.

fight was very smooth. thf dnc sch drk/whm and got drop.

Freya's Trousers dropped to my inventory. Woot! Stingy ass frog never puts out. Missing the 25 piece. Hoping to get that this Sunday.
