On the bright side it's probably a good conversation starter. Smiley: nod

But yeah, when the thread gets too PG-13 with the images I'll usually just avoid it until I get home.

Now, I feel like I'm doing research. Smiley: lol

This information can only help me.
Brewers probably have a high chance of being muscly men seeing as how they lug around lots of heavy stuff all day and an inordinate amount of them seem to be bearded so there's that. Beer drinkers have the same love for beards but trade the muscle for a beer belly.

And here's something to keep you entertained for a while:

Not saying there's a lot of that in this thread outside the links people post, but a lot of the pictures I would be a little less than comfortable viewing with someone looking over my shoulder, like in a classroom setting.

Obviously I'm not asking you to filter your posts or anything, @#%^ that. I was just commenting that I have to be a bit more careful in my zam-ing.

or I could actually pay attention in Calculus for once.

Edit: and you can't deny that picture is meant to be inciting. Showing a model-level guy wearing nothing from the waist up, with tattoos and a not small amount of muscle? It's even got the sh*tty Instagram filter. It looks like something taken straight from tumblr, and it certainly wasn't taken for the purpose of showing off the skyline.

I have seen that guy on tumblr. Smiley: lol And **** calculus, DBT is where it's at.

But, hey, if anyone asks, say you're doing a research paper on the fascination with tattoos in gay culture. Smiley: schooled

Because you sit up front and participate once or twice and the professor spends the rest of their time glaring at the people in back, so they assume you're paying attention.

Instant favoritism when all you are doing is browsing reddit/tumblr/zam.

We used to all connect to one laptop running an ad hoc network and play unreal tournament in class. IT was fun. I got an A+, but I couldn't have told you what purpose the class served.

I always sit in the front too, but there are always some days where I don't feel like paying attention, so I go back and forth between One Note and Facebook. Depending on where in the room my prof is standing.

They hated me. I sniped.

I still got a 3 on my test. Smiley: lol

Out of 5. Many colleges will accept a 3 or higher on high school AP tests in place of an actual semester of the subject being taught, though that is phasing out in favor of 4 or higher in a lot of subjects, and it does depend on the subject/college.

For high school, GPA is typically out of 5 as well, though independent from AP test score. The score you get on an AP test is used pretty much solely in determining if you get college credit for the course you just took. Otherwise, it's kind of pointless.

Honors courses gave you +.5 grade points to whatever grade you got in the class, AP gave you +1. I think these days that's pretty standard across the board.

That said, some colleges do consider only unweighted GPA, so on the 4 scale as opposed to the 5. It varies based on the college.

You know nothing of pain until you sit there calculating the exact grade needed on every test.

I thought they got rid of almost all choice with regards to gear and spec which only leaves rotation.

You can do this from the back as well, just so you know. That's how I made it through the educational system while remaining a teacher favorite. I usually listen with one ear while I'm browsing or playing, and if something strikes me as odd, or a good way to start a discussion, I raise my hand and all hell breaks loose. It's quite funny. Well, it was... I'm now done with all that jazz. In fact, now I'm the one being ignored by the people in the back (and front).

Edit: Related note. I swear there's something wrong with the new generation of kids. It's like they have zero respect for teachers. I've had a cold all day, so I wasn't really feeling in the mood to shout at anyone in class, so instead I walked down to the table and told them to shut the hell up while I was talking. One of the girls just looked me straight in the eye and said "But you're so ******* boring." Didn't even blink. I was completely knocked off-balance by it. In hindsight, I should have yelled at her then, but I was afraid my voice would crack (from the sickness, not because teenage girls scare me), which has an inverse effect in such a situation.

Kids, man. Some parents out there need a serious beating for not raising their kids. I'm not going to do it for them, but I will punish them if they misbehave. Worst part is that these parents get super defensive when you report such behavior. They're all "Well, my child says you were talking a lot, which really isn't an ideal learning situation". I'm like "*****, please, what the **** do you know about ideal learning situations? Your daughter just dropped the f-bomb on a teacher. 40 years ago, I would have beaten her senseless with a cane."

Parents, man. You need to pass a test in order to get a driver's license, but any two morons can make a baby and then completely ignore their responsibilities for 18 years, after which the kid goes to jail and costs tax money. Not cool.

I'd argue that there wasn't really choice in BC. Stack spell/attack power on all gear, use cookie cutter build. Go for x best stat. The gear is the same, they've just accepted it and stopped making crappy drops without mainstat that nobody would use.

"Rotations" as a whole are more complex now, so that they're not even rotations any more. They're priorities. For example, on my Shadow priest, I need to

Keep DoTs up
Use Mind Blast on cooldown
Use Devouring Plague at 3 shadow orbs
Mind Flay as Filler
Shadow Word: Death when <25%.

On top of that I have to also compare my active DoTs on the target to what I can cast with my procs up
Refresh DoTs before casting Devouring Plauge if procs allow so that I can maximize Insanity Channeling
Use Shadowfiend when it comes off cooldown.
Watch for low-health mobs I can snipe for Twist of Fate (and then refresh DoTs on my main target again).

And that's just for single target using my preferred talents. If I switch to an alternate build using Divine Insight as opposed to Twist of Fate I have to also watch out for Mind Blast procs and use those immediately. DI vs ToF is pretty much equal in terms of DPS, especially on single target and whichever is better is really debatable (especially once you take set bonuses into consideration) so I can really use whichever I feel like. The alternate to Insanity is also close in terms of DPS, so I may use that as well.

And as for choice in gear, this is kind of new to this tier but for Shadow at least, I can take essentially any kind of gear I want and use it well, as long as I meet certain requirements. Haste is great up until one of two caps (I choose which), at which point Mastery and Crit are relatively equal and I may gear for whichever I choose or any mix of the two. I can go for a haste cap at which Devouring Plague gains an extra tick, or I can go for the GCD cap at 50% haste. After that, I like a mastery heavy build myself, but for my spec Mastery and Crit have a really cool relationship that makes them relatively equal.

Add in stuff like this trinket, and it makes theorycrafting a HUGE pain in the ***, but also fun if you're into that. It's to the point where the guys over at the Priest forums use a specialty-built computer they call the "Blowtorch" to figure out the best ways to maximize DPS.

So no, I'd argue that MoP theorycrafting is much more difficult than in BC, and choice has only improved. In fact, I'd say that one is directly responsible for the other.

More choice in spec meant there was more to calculate through to find the best spec, once the cookie cutter is established there's no more theorycrafting to be done aside from what gear is better and what the best rotation/priority is until the next tier and new gear brought other specs ahead. So "everything is more or less equal" makes it very simple.

And that trinket is pretty simple, it probably has a massive proc chance so for simplicity you can assume it's up for 20 out of each 120 seconds (taking 5 seconds to proc on average) so 1.33% of all the fancy stuff and 2333 intellect averaged out. It's worth more to you if you have other procs on a 2 minute cooldown because of stacking effects. Edit: misread the trinket, it seems pretty straightforward. Unless the meanings of stats have chabged massively it's mostly a simple calculation of percentages to see the increase in dps based on your other stats.

As for your spec, not taking ToF is stupid as you complicate your priority for no gain in dps whih leads to more errors on your side and thus lower dps.
