seriously

i didnt think you was talking about girls lacross

Lacrosse, you mean that game that nobody outside of the US has heard of or cares about?

Then again, hockey doesn't include violence so I guess it's too sophisticated for you guys.

so does your version of hockey encourage flopping, much like your version of football?

meaning the "athletes" fall down and cry when they get breathed on and hope for a penalty

**** no, football players are pussies. The only times the game stops is when there's an injury or for the video referee and the time is stopped for those so you get to watch 70 minutes of action.

Here, Field Hockey is pretty much exclusively a girl's sport, which is what I think he meant by "girls lacrosse."

Also, I REALLY HATE motion gaming. I think I've given it enough chances. But seriously, hate it.

I'm trying to force myself to enjoy Skyward Sword, and I hate it. There are so many things that require the Wiimote where there's no good reason I couldn't use the analog stick and make my life 80x easier. Every freaking mob needs to be hit from a certain angle, and the WiiMote NEVER recognizes them properly.

It just took a good 5 minutes to beat the first boss as a result.

Of course, on the flip side, you get the jump on any mob and shake like mad and you probably killed it, because it couldn't put up its defenses.

But it's so annoying because, excepting the controls, this has the makings of a great game.

Ice hockey > hockey.

That's just a fact.

Yeah but without controls it's like a Ferrari with a 50hp engine. Something crucial is missing.

Yeah but without controls it's like a Ferrari with a 50hp engine. Something crucial is missing.

That means nothing to me.

In what world is hockey not a violent sport? Fights break out all the time.

Okay, I get that you mean horse power.

And I get that you're implying that 50hp is low.

But I don't have any idea whatsoever what would be an average horsepower, high, low, etc. And I care so little about cars, that I didn't bother looking it up. Smiley: lol

Supercars will usually have 10+ times as much horsepower and if they have less than 500 hp it's because the thing is about as heavy as the rear wheel of your truck.

Oh... okay.

So yeah, I don't like motion gaming. Smiley: lolSmiley: lolSmiley: lol

I just don't think a 3D interface makes any sense when we're forced to interact with a 2D screen, anyway. It's not like I can use my depth perception to understand it. Or parry, etc.

Virtual reality? Hells yeah, give me my goddamn sword controller. But I just find it weird and jarring this way.

Plus, you know, when I'm trying to do a horizontal slash from the bottom up, and the Wii gives me a top-down vertical slash, I get annoyed... I'm assuming this works better with the Xbox/Playstation versions of motion controls, but I don't care.

Until I get VR, I don't want it.

I can't say it interests me at all, I'm sure it's fun for some games but I'd rather just have a controller.

I hated motion controls from the getgo. I still see nothing about it that makes me prefer it to an actual controller.

I did, too. I had hoped that it would carve out at least a "meh" in my heart in the 7 years its had to get better.

Nope.

Smiley: nod

Which reminds me; I watched Days of Thunder last night. Didn't think it was possible to miss the 90's so much. While the movie itself is pretty mediocre, it's great for those of us who love the late 80's and early 90's movies. Classic Tom Cruise movie with a splash of sexy Nicole Kidman in it. Also, the music is by Hans Zimmer, which I think is just hilariously epic.

And I'm going to make a reference here to a couple of pages back... Hans Zimmer also made the music for Cool Runnings. Smiley: lol

I watched Clueless last night. It was fun for the reminiscing, but seeing Brittney Murphy made me sad. She died way too young.

Speaking about Cool Runnings (again), there's a new Jamaican bobsled team trying to get to the winter olympics.

That explains it - I was wondering why a movie about pilots would be lumped in with cars...
