There are other good ways to keep in touch with people, and if they're also taking all of my personal information and using it to spam me with stuff they're at least less overt about it. Smiley: rolleyes

Facebook is just a messaging platform for me at this point. Easy way to maintain some constant threads with no effort, and I can take them across platforms from my phone to my PC.

The whole newsfeed and page portion? Yeah, my newsfeed is mostly just DA3 updates at this point. Smiley: lol

FB got real tiring real fast for me when I started getting friend requests from people I hated in high school who were kind enough then to hate me also.

I have over a dozen pending friend requests, some of which go back years. For some reason, I think that not responding has to be more irritating to the person requesting than just dismissing them. Whatever.

It's been a long time since I've had a beer that overwhelmed my tastebuds but De Molen did it with their Hel & Verdoemenis Wild Turkey BA. It's like a concentrated imperial stout with added whiskey, vanilla and some oak and leather flavours and an almost oil like consistency.

Yay, Pigtails. Although we are both on FB, at least. Smiley: lol

My reason for staying on Facebook is that it's a good bragging platform and is *the best* place for networking. I got my first academic job through Facebook, and for 3/4 grad school options I'm applying to I've got everything set up to sort out accommodation through it. LinkedIn is dead, the only reason I even remember I have a profile is that I have professional contacts in countries without Facebook.

In related news, I just went on LinkedIn and a relevant person actually checked out my profile. I suppose it's good that I keep it up to date.

Squirrels don't look so cute anymore when they're dead and sort of torn apart...

Running 5-mans is depressing.

My Druid's wearing almost all JP epics now, but I keep getting put in groups with raid geared people. My brain just won't accept that 40 item levels should warrant a 460% increase in damage output. It looks ridiculous, but I guess it's no different from the other expansions.

Just makes me feel like waste of space when I jump in with my ~60k DPS. I've seen healers do more damage than that.

I also think there's something wrong with the scaling of the various classes, because my Warrior is doing more DPS than above in PvP blues. Makes no sense.

Yeah, I've seen your kitties. They're very cute.

Chauncey is a Scottish Fold. It's more of a genetic mutation than an actual breed, but it's considered a breed for some reason. I think he might have some Maine **** in him too, because he has huge feet and similar markings to a Maine ****. They don't look like tabby stripes to me. Plus when I took him to the vet he weighs half a pound more than average for his age. Which, when you only weigh 2.5 lbs, is quite a big jump.

He looks adorable either way. I hope he doesn't share a Maine ****'s dislike for sitting on laps though.

And for some reason I've ended up with small cats again, Wilson will grow into an average size cat if he buffs up a little but he'll still be small for a male cat and pink is tiny (although she still bosses her brother around).
#1495 Oct 19 2013 at 8:55 PM Rating: Good
Oh no, he's a huge lap cat and cuddler. With time, I'll be able to break him of the habit of attacking hands and feet and he'll be a perfect cat. He gets along great with my roommate (and boyfriend's other gf)'s cat Daphne. My boyfriend's cat Sugar though wants nothing to do with him. She keeps growling and hissing at him and trying to eat his food. So he chases her and harasses her for revenge. Hopefully they get used to each other in time.

A few years ago we were having a barbeque in the backyard when suddenly there was this loud buzz, pop, and thud. We all turned around, and it turned out it was a squirrel that, for whatever reason decided to bite into a powerline and suicided itself. It was actually on fire.

The ones here mostly just run up and down trees. And apparently enough in between trees for my cats to catch one.
