Oh, wow...

Level 100 Druid talent makes Savage Roar passive. That's... that's huge. And Demonology Warlocks can get a talent that enables them to have Metamorphosis up permanently* by sacrificing 30% of its damage bonus. Pretty sweet if this goes live.

*Technically not permanent, since Metamorphosis still burn Demonic Fury while active, but it'll be up for the entire fight.

I think Wildstar is the first game in a long time where I've thought all the classes looked fun and interesting. Granted, I'm still only at the "Okay, sure" level on their rogue-whatever-it's-called class, but that's the archetype in general for me.

But I'm really liking all of them, so far.

Also, I need to decide what I want to bring to 90 for my real WoW experience. Because while my DK can jump into dungeons, he still isn't fun enough I want to continue playing him. Sad, because I used to love the class. :(

[EDIT]

One of the races is this sadistic, psychotic squirrel thing. It's awesome.

I don't like the eclipse mechanic (or orange wrath wtf). And I'm not interested in a kitty. And the sideburns on the bears annoy the crap out of me.

I mean, I still have my Worgen Druid at 70, whenever I finally get the urge to play him again.

Wildstar doesn't look bad. Not something that immediately clicks for me but if it's free to play I think I'll give it a shot.

To be honest, I've never been interested in bear tanking. I never quite understood what bears were bringing to the table that Warriors couldn't. They managed to make the rest of the specs solid and unique, but I always felt like bear remained so... boring.

They bring claws and fur. Bears also feel much less fiddly than warrior tanks and better at AoE tanking, last time I played the classes anyway.

Bear was a giant stack of unmitigated hit points, who's versatility was rendered useless by the fact they had to stay in bear form the whole time. If there were instances they didn't have something beating on them they could squeeze some use out of overpowered abilities from the other forms (Innervate, Tranquility, small instant cast heal with whatever that was stacked, pretend to be kitty DPS/dash, stealth had its moments), but for the most part that was a very rare thing in PvE and fairly underpowered in PvP, if it wasn't quickly nerfed.

The whole hybrid thing seems like it's never worked out right for them.

Also, relevant though.

I never was one for the OMG STAM gearing movement. Aesthetically, I like avoidance and mitigation. Though bears did get huge armor, once upon a time. :P

That was pretty cool too.

I remember in late wrath bears were a joy to heal, with just the armor and the higher hit points. Some of the other tanks felt downright spiky with the damage (hello paladin), but the druid was a little more resilient. Well at least you didn't feel like you were constantly on the edge of your seat when healing them. Like you could take a GCD and toss a bubble on someone else or something at least.

That's why you got loads of agility as well for the dodge and armor.

Looks like Blizzard is going back to making Bears armor tanks again.

If you pick the talent (and if it goes live), of course.

Bear tanking right now is MIND-NUMBINGLY boring. I have a level 90 Bear and a level 90 Prot Warrior. Tanking on my Warrior is easily ten times more fun than tanking on my Bear. You have way more mobility, way more utility, and the Warrior rotation, while similar to the Bear rotation, is much more dynamic. Druid rotation can be castsequence macro'd, for crying out loud. Maul is still underwhelming as a rage dump, and your big cost active mitigation is RNG based (wooh!). You do get a heal, but it's only efficient once you've stacked enough Vengeance on you, and only if you're low on health and one of the six healers in your LFR raid isn't going to overheal you in X seconds.

And while fur and claws count as a plus, being stuck in the same anatomically incorrect bear model (looks like a giant, tailless rat), regardless of your gear, sucks. Part of what made Druids interesting back in the day was their ability to WEAVE IN shapeshifting to do a multitude of roles. Now you're stuck in the same form 24/7 depending on your spec. That's not fun at all.

I'll take "How PvP ruined the game" for $200, Alex.

They took the single greatest thing about the game and turned it into something bland.

I will never forgive them for that. Smiley: disappointed

Some freaking glyphs to affect forms would definitely be nice...

Or even if they just implemented some standard armor that took the colorset from the existing gear. That would be better than nothing.

And yeah, Maz pretty much settled me away from Druid for the moment. Smiley: lol

Pally, Monk, or Warrior...

Pally and Monk can do all 3 roles, which is a win. Though I know next to nothing about Monk.

Pallies get shields, which is a second win...

Paladins are fine, but you need to roll a female dwarf to make them work right.
