Not sure where you live but to live in Orange County or LA (aka Southern Cali) it's going to be more expensive than your average apartment/home.
Redneck, Oregon means cheap rent for Pigtails.
Really, even ours in inflated because we're surrounded by 3 different parks next to the river and downtown. It wouldn't normally be that high for an apt this size, but hey it's all about location or something.

What confuses me is that there's freakin hurricanes and whatnot over there and you keep making houses out of wood. A brick wall is going to survive a hell of a lot more abuse than drywall and wood.
We don't get hurricanes up here, just earthquakes; traditional un-reinforced brickwork is really bad for those.
And trees grow like weeds here; you have to do something to keep their population in check or they just take over everything.

Yeah, we don't really get earthquakes, or hurricanes or even storms much. Today's storm turned out the be the worst since 1976...

im at around 1250 for a 2 bedroom, full bath, living room, kitchen and a spacious lanai. no idea the square footage but its a good size.
