I love to use my fox when we already have a DK and Warrior in the group. He looks awesome (rare from dun mor) and tailspin slows his target's attack speed by 20% with can help out the tank. Meh. I use Olm in pvp for disarm too :/

Well, maybe those "Taming Challenges" aren't overly challenging, and maybe the pets aren't anything new really, but...

I like the fact that they are doing SOMETHING, stuff that goes beyond just camping a spawn point in hopes for that rare beast you're after.

So have any of your hunters caught any of these "new pets?"

That shouldn't be doing anything if your tank isn't a rampaging moron. 20% attack speed debuff is either considered a mandatory talent or comes default with every tank.

The fox is pretty useful if your tank is a Druid. Druids don't get a true AOE attack speed debuff. Only stuff that gets hit by Mangle and Maul gets the debuff and those abilities hit 1-3 targets at a time.

I wasn't too impressed by the screenshots I saw of the new spiders, but now having seen (someone else's) purple lava spider in action, I can say they're gorgeous, especially that color. They've got little flickery flames all over, and they just look kind of sturdy in that way most spider pets don't. Probably that made of rocks thing.

I'm tempted to camp the thing, but that would require questing and time and the purple one's supposed to be a real pain in the rear.

Wait, was it always like that? I could have sword Swipe used to cause it (you know, like it should).

Huh, Pallies only get the ST version too. Could have sworn every tank got it from AoE, because it so clearly should be. Hell, the 8 second CD between applications for a Pally makes the Bear version look kind...

Okay, nvm, there's a valid reason to bring along a fox. Bear tanks will benefit and Pally tanks will REALLY benefit.

And DKs get to reduce all damage dealt by 10% too... Pallies are limited to a few targets or just one...

Way to go Blizz.

I like the armored wolf from Hellfire Ramparts.

Me too, apart from the fact that when BC came out and I saw them I thought it would be awesome to have as a pet, but they weren't tamable back then. So I'm a little annoyed that I couldn't have one when I wanted it. Going to be heading there soon though, got 85 on my hunter this weekend and a group asked if I could pull out a crit buff pet, I replied that I didn't have one (rather than the more honest I don't even know what gives that buff). Now read up and have a list of 22 new pets that I want to tame (though I may have to reduce this a bit, thought you could have more than 25 pets).

I won't be going after any of the new pets for quite a while (if at all), I like the way they look, but not too keen on trying to deal with other hunters or people killing them because they don't realise they don't drop loot.

I activated my 7 free days and I got into the Molten Front and it was just completely packed with people so I didn't even dare try to do the dailies as it's probably TB 2.0 out there on a pvp realm.

Was bad at first, but it has gotten much better now that people have unlocked the other quests and are more spread out. Also seems like most people want to just get their quests done and then get the hell out of there asap.
