Hey Xsarus, what's my karma? :D (C'mon, pleeeeeeease).

I'll never be a sage lol. My post count is too low for all the rants I go on. Plus, I'm not elite enough to justify my elitist attitude. >.<

I hear crying about Druid nerfs is a good way to get Sage. Smiley: lol

If only I wasn't so weak and human to post what's on my mind, I'd probably be Guru by now. Unfortunately for my karma, I like drama.

If the target of karma camping has bewbs, it doesn't count. That's what I heard...

Sorry, should have clarified that. If you're a guy and you have bewbs, you get karma camped in the other direction. Look at Jay's karma rating for example, and he's always talking about his moobs. =x

Positive karma camping is still karma camping.

I think Hyolith(sic) got scolded for it on the hunter forums.

I'm just wanting to bring to light how frustrating it is going up against a druid tauren in flight form. Not only can they loot herbs in flight form, but also do it at lightning speed. I think they should just remove the speed looting from racial and put it into the actual skill itself. Its highly unreasonable that the race can get 15+ skill and the fast looting when other races in alliance only get the skill(apart from skinning but the creature is bound to the person). Having the racial talents they have without it would still overpower alot of the alliance's racial talents. Hope people that read this feel the same.

Thanks for reading,

Cimmy

We see that some feel Tauren herbalists are overpowered. We understand the frustration when someone else gets to a herb before you. We know that it can seem worse if they can also gather it faster than you, because of their racial ability. We've got herbalists ourselves and we do empathise.

But we didn't feel that +15 Herbalism skill was really good enough for Taurens and we wanted them to have something a bit more useful, especially once they've reached the cap. They've got a 0.5 second advantage on other herbalists, and while yes that can be an advantage we are relatively satisfied with how it is at the moment.

Yes, sometimes it can seem like they swoop out of nowhere and take the herb before you've even seen them flying in. But that's more to do with how the game client deals with very fast moving flying mounts than anything else. It's probably quite likely both players saw the herb at about the same time and the Tauren just got in quicker. It's the same kind of thing for Worgen and skinning, though herbs are often more hotly contested.

Though we do hear the feedback and have taken it into consideration, we wanted to make Cultivation a bit more interesting and useful and we feel we've achieved that. So we do not, at this time, have any plans to alter this racial ability.

Oh and in regards to the OP, once you start harvesting an herb it is yours. If your pick failed it's because the other person was actually there first, and in fact you were trying to ninja it from them. Game clients and lag can make this seem otherwise.

Hmm that's true, I have noticed that message "that item is being used" or whatever when someone else is picking it.
#66 Feb 15 2011 at 9:27 AM Rating: Good
Yep, they made that change back when you had to click ore nodes multiple times so you wouldn't have multiple people picking a single node simultaneously.

Which is another reason this thread is stupid.

LOL REALLY?

I figured rusttle was at least slightly justified because a Tauren could technically grab a node you had already started picking (though still not justified in venting his frustration in such an insipid manner). If that isn't the case, his rant is just 100% ridiculous.

Wait, wait, Cultivation gives a 0.5-second reduction? That can't be right. Gathering herbs takes 2.0 seconds and it's not affected by haste. I could've sworn my Druid, when he was still Tauren, used to pick herbs so fast I couldn't even see the timer on the cast bar.

1.5 seconds is, what, Regrowth casting speed?

Doesn't sound right. Feels more like a 0.5-second casting time.

I think that's mainly due to your perception of events.

During combat, you are acutely aware of passing time--you are watching your cast bar and may be queuing up another spell or getting ready to move. You are completely focused on what is passing.

When Herbing, on the other hand, you are rarely so absorbed in what's going on. You are less exhilarated and it doesn't really matter how long it takes (though it definitely feels too long when you are rushed).

No, Tauren cultivate is a .5 sec cast, I just checked on my Cowadin. For everyone else it's a 2 sec cast. Might be a bug, or maybe the blue misspoke. It does happen from time to time.

I'm pretty sure that standard herb picking takes 1 second, not 2... I could be wrong though. =x

I didn't know about the claiming of herb nodes though, that's interesting. Every time I've seemingly reached a node at the same time (or right after) and started picking I've gotten it.

Okay fair enough. It's been a long time since I was herbing on my mage. Enchanting and Tailoring = win. Much better than Herbalism and Tailoring was.
