I made my Shaman way back in BC, about midway through, and she got Lv70 near the end of BC; Wrath had been announced around the time I finished her.

In Wrath, I only leveled her to keep her Alchemy going, and I wound up sever-moving her and then doing a faction change.

Now, in Cataclysm, I'm enjoying how Shamans play, as they've made some great changes to enhance the fun factor.

Either way, this is my Enhancement Shaman:

Now, I realize some of the talents may be off, as the ones I picked, I picked with solo leveling in mind, and I'm aware I may be missing a few glyphs (also, I need to change that glyph of water shield since I never really use water shield anymore, now that Shamans get mana from melee strikes).

I'm open for suggestions in the Talents/Glyph areas, as well as any mistakes I might have made in gearing her up (I'm halfway through Deepholm with her, plan on doing Uldum then TH next).

Either way, I was thinking of Quing up for some dungeons, but I've never did much dungeon stuff with a Shaman before, and I wanted to make sure that I had stuff right, and I didn't look like an idiot.

My usual rotation looks like this (WF on main, Flametongue on OH):

Flame Shock -> Stormstrike -> Unleash Elements -> Lava Lash and mobs are usually dead by then. If not, I usually have a Maelstrom x4 or x5 that I will usually use on Chain Lightning or Lightning Bolt unless I need healing.

A question I had, is this: Unleash Elements causes Flametongue on the OH weapon to increase the next Fire spell's damage, and I know that Lava Burst is a guaranteed critical hit if the target is affected by Flame Shock (which it always is, using my above rotation).

My question is, since Lava Burst has a 2 sec cast, is it worth casting it and missing Melee time, or should I use my Unleash Elements' proc on Flame Shock (since it is instant) instead?

Since hard-casting anything (including Lightning Bolt with less than 5/5 Maelstrom) resets your melee swing timer, Lava Burst is a DPS loss. You should also cast Flame Shock after Unleash Elements so it can benefit from the fire damage buff. If you're starting combat from outside melee range, you can Unleash Elements => Flame Shock as you run in, then Lava Lash, SS, etc. When more than one ability is off CD, you should go something like this. Searing Totem (if it's gone or has less than 5 sec left) > Lava Lash > Flame Shock (if you just used Unleash Elements) > Lightning Bolt (if you have 5/5 Maelstrom) > Storm Strike > Earth Shock if you have nothing else to do. Pop wolves just after Bloodlust so they benefit from your buffs.

This is the talent spec I'm using for my enhance shaman. The points in Elemental Precision are for the 2% damage buff, you won't (or shouldn't) have any spirit on your gear. 2/2 Reverberation makes it so you can go FS/ES/ES and Unleash Elements will be off CD right before FS is ready again.

As for stats/etc, Hit and Expertise are pretty much king until you have 0% miss with spells on level 87 mobs (88 if/when you plan on raiding). There isn't much, if any, Expertise on mail, so you'll have to reforge your gear for it. After you get spell hit capped and 24 Expertise, Mastery is your next best stat, with crit rating and haste being last and about equal. It's always safe to gem for agility, if you have a good yellow or blue socket bonus (+20 or more Agi, +30 Mastery), you should use Agi/Hit (blue) or Agi/Mastery (yellow). In my gear, I have enough hit and expertise from reforging that I don't have to gem or enchant for it for 5-man normals and heroics.

If you don't have one already, a /focus target Hex/Bind Elemental macro is almost a necessity. Should look something like this:

#showtooltip
/focus [@focus, noharm] [@focus, dead] [mod:shift]
/stopmacro [@focus, noexists]
/cast [mod:alt, @focus] Bind Elemental; [@focus] Hex

If you don't have focus target, or your previous focus is dead, this will set your current target to your focus and cast Hex (or Bind Elemental if you press Alt). If you have a focus target, it will cast Hex on your focus, or Bind Elemental if you press Alt. This lets you see how long is left on your CC by looking at your focus target's debuffs, and recast your CC if you need to without manually switching targets.
