Hunter changes brought me backFollow

So...long story short, when wrath came out and the Hunter class from TBC was essentially thrown away and replaced with a new one, I sucked it up and leveed to 80, but didn't enjoy it, so I changed my main to...well DK, Pally and Druid really.

Anyway, I logged on yesterday and took all my 80's to the trainer and got all my talent tress filled out and decided to try out the hunter changes in a dungeon. I love my hunter again. Haven't touched an alt since the patch.

Focus is a great mechanic, BM is competitive, Kill Command is what it was back in TBC, pets are awesome with the new changes, more stable slots (after what? 6 years of whining? Blizz FINALLY follows through), Call pet is freakin fantastic, I beat the crap out of everyone in the 3 randoms I did on DPS (topping the meters by 1-2k each time, yeah it's not everything, but it's satisfying and the only DPS who really say that are the ones that can't do it)....Anyone else feel like Hunter feels like what it used to? What they should be?

I used to think my DK would be my new main, but after this patch I know my Hunter is going to be my first 85 by a long shot.

I liked where SV was in 3.3 - I like the playstyle, and throughput was competetive. From what I hear, while the focus mechanics make resource management all new, the actual system of shot selection isn't that much different. I'm hopeful of that, because SV in Wrath fairly well expressed what I want a hunter to be, and I don't want much change.

I loved SV back in early Ulduar before Arp came into play. SV has always been my favorite spec I could compete with the best of the MM hunters for awhile but then the change became so drastic I pretty much had to switch over. I'll probably be running BM/SV this expansion so I hope they all compete well without having to go 11112 all fight long.

I played as SV in Wrath to do competitive DPS, but I started my Hunter back in Vanilla because I like the idea of being BM. So in TBC I loved it, Wrath I couldn't stick it out for the long haul alongside my Druid Healer, Pally Tankd and DK Frost DPS, they were just more enjoyable to play for me.

Now that BM is going to be competitive again I'm happy. I don't hate the other 2 specs, it's just not how I want to play. People who think that BM Hunters are easier to play, don't know how to play as a BM Hunter to the fullest, but in WotLK the majority of what they said was true. Now that there is much more input from the player on what the pet can do and how what the pet does affects the Hunter, it's going to be interesting to see how things play out at the end game when the good BM, SV and MM players really start using all other tools in their toolbox and see what the meters say at that time.

I finally got 4.0.1 downloaded and installed. I got on and immediately made my main spec BM. I wasn't able to do much else because I was sitting on the bed with a laptop and it's practically impossible to play wow without a mouse. So I'll get around to playing with it more today. I can't wait.

Oh crap... I speced my hunter to the new BM today and ran some stuff. I loved it! Big Red Petty is back. Now I really can't decide which toon to play first for Caty. I'll play all my favs to 85 though per usual I'm sure. XD
