Natural shapeshifter not for Feral Combat ?Follow

- I like to entangle, insect swarm, moonfire, maybe another round of spells, and shift to cat to attack while mana refills before the next fight. So it doesn't help me much that a Natural Shapeshifter isn't in the Feral Combat tree, especially if I'm caged there until 70th L. For me Feral does not mean starting and staying in cat form all the time, just shifting at the opportune moment. So I tend to get intelligence/mana/spell power gear in a few slots and the rest for armor and agility to cover the last-mana-dreg shift to CatAttack.
- So now, I try to do one kill as a caster, shift, pounce, one kill as a cat while mana refills.
- The benefits of Natural & Master Shapeshifter would help shifting TO Feral Combat talents where the Predatory Strikes instant cast nature spell is useful for shifting OUT of Feral Combat talents where it is in Tier 1. Seems cross-eyed to me.

What level/spec were you pre-401? What is your spec level now that 401 hit?

The whole question confuses me.

He's trying to split the difference between casting and melee which with the new tree-lockout cannot effectively be done.

In the end you are better off choosing one tree and gearing for it. Sounds like you'd be happier going Balance while you level.

He mixed things, before. More like a PvP player, where you constantly change your form and cast different spells.
PvE, unless you are leveling, you will have to stay mostly as only one form and do only one type of damage, or else you will be uneffective.
Of course, there are exceptions, but they are scarce.
