I am coming back to wow and thinking about rolling a Dk. Are they any good for pvp? That is mainly what I'm interested in. Are they fun? I don't really see too many deathknights any reason why?

I liked fighting them in 60 AV; since they all seem to open with death grip at that level. I got pretty good at popping shadowfury and hitting the ground running.
Novast, DKs are fine at PvP; you'll be good against some classes and have problems with others. I didn't enjoy playing mine too much, but that was more a play-style thing, as I prefer ranged/healers.
I can't say why you aren't seeing many DKs, but I'll speculate nonetheless, because it's fun to do. They did go through a phase when they were overpowered and managed to get a reputation as "huntards" of WotLK, but those days are mostly over now. My guess is that they still have a lingering reputation problem, and aren't overpowered enough to compensate for it anymore.
