I brough my rogue to 80 mainly because I got tired of PvP with my DK. I went thru alot of post in this forum and I can't seem to find a good one for PvP specs, Hit/ArPen/etc.. rating, gemming and enchants, addon, macro... You get the picture.

Thx in advance for linking me the ressources.

I specced sub for the first time ever yesterday for PvP.

Gems and enchants should focus on AP.

I just started Arena again on my rogue, sitting at like 780 playing 2's with a mage. We didn't have time to do many games this past week, but we should be able to clear 1800 without too much trouble very soon.

Popping Shadow Dance and then using Shadowstep is ridiculous vs leather and cloth users. On plate you want to keep rupture up as much as possible.

For poisons, Wound MH and OH varies based on what class I am fighting. Crippling poison with the glyph vs casters is top notch. Deadly is what I use vs other melee.

I am not pro arena by any means, played a mage to 2200 during Season 2, then quit until now basically. Play around with the spec, see if it works for you, I really like it.

P.S. I jacked this spec from this thread:
http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=24038444713&sid=1

The OP in that thread uses a similar spec, and he is pretty good at PvP.

Thx for your answer.

Since I mainly do BG, does this specs still hold the road or should I move to a mut base PvP spec?

Thx,

Having played both in BG, it comes down to personal preference. Hell I am actually running Combat PvE in arena right now since me and my mage partner destroy people.

Sub is just nasty for casters though, and shadowstep is super fun.

I'm thinking of trying:

Its the Muti PvP build, but instead of getting the stuff in the Sub tree, I go down Combat and get Blade Flurry. More Damage, less utility. Should be interesting to try.

I'm casually leveling up my Rouge and I'm curious about the differences between Mutilate and Sub PvP. Anyone have some advice or could link me to some good threads on Rogue PvP? I've done some searching on my own, but I haven't been able to find anything very helpful.

The question is though, if you're sub, why would you use a Crippling poison glyph? Sub is the most mobile spec *in the game*. I haven't played my rogue in ages, but I feel that if there's one thing I could probably drop as sub it's an improved Crippling Poison.

I really like the idea of that build, but I do see two problems with it;

-Complete lack of energy talents. I know some of these talents are a preference, but... no Vigor, no Focused Attacks, no Combat Potency, no Quick Recovery, no Relentless Strikes, no Adrenaline Rush, no Vitality, no nothing. While I don't doubt that your damage will be awesome, I feel like with a spec like that you'll spend most of your time waiting for energy to do something.

-The lack of to a lesser extend MoD and Camouflage, but mainly Dirty Tricks. With a build like that even feral druids will start getting the drop on you and attacking from stealth will simply be downright painful. Also, thanks to no Dirty Deeds your openers will cost you tons of energy, which ties back in to problem one. Endurance, Imp Sprint, Imp Kick and the dodge chance from Lightning Reflexes probably really make up for the loss of Preparation but there is simply no way to make up for the fact that your stealth now sucks.

Would be curious to know how that plays regardless, Moo.

I've been looking around the interwebs to find some advice on Sub PvP, but haven't found much.

I poked around with the talent calculator and came up with this:

How's that look?

Big thanks in advance!

It looks fine. How does it play? You tell me.

The 'problem' sub currently seems to have is that there's not enough points to get everything you want. Pretty much everything in a sub build is preference. HAT or no HAT? Waylay and no Crippling Poison? Or Imp Ambush for burst during Shadowdance? Assuming you even pick it up, and don't go Cold Blood. Lethality? Good, but it costs so many points. Blood Spatter? Awesome for your Rupture if you also have Serrated Blades (which you will), but points as well. Heck, you can even drop Ruthlesness. And what about Vigor?

Really, as long as the basics are there (50-ish points in sub), you can really go in all directions with the spec, PvP-wise.

Good to know! Thanks for the input. I'm still leveling my rogue but I might switch to sub later.
