My new PC is gonna be running i7 2600k at 3.4 GHz, and 2 Raedon HD 6970's. That's about 1000 dollars just on processor and graphics cards.Smiley: frown

Well, better than dropping 500 for something that lacks a dedicated GPU, simply because you can't afford to be without a laptop.

I'm budgeting another 6-700 dollars for everything else, which might be optimistic, but I have no idea.

Also, what version of the i5 are you running? This rig is running an i7 920 and an nVidia 260 GTX, so it's getting old.

Also Also: I was excited for the AMD bulldozer, but it's being outperformed by second generation i processors and some of AMD's current processors, although I'm not actually sure if the bulldozer was ever intended for high benchmarks while gaming.

Looks like a nice rig, Rio.

Been thinking about a dual GPU setup as well, but so far the GTX 980 hasn't had issues with anything (from WoW to The Witcher 2).

GTX 980? There's no such GPU. Unless you meant 480 or 580? nVidia hasn't even started their 600 series chipsets yet, though they're probably in development. Or you could have meant an intel i7 980. I might have to revise my budget a bit, because I want to put a 120 gig solid state drive in so that I can get faster loading times on CoD4, so I have more chance of getting scope, so that's about another $160. I wish I could get my hands on a 1TB SSD. That would freaking rock, but the only people that have them are insanely rich, or product testers, or people in the gaming scene that have been sent samples.

580, woops.

It's way past my bedtime (not really, but that essay kind of broke my spirit).

Ahh, I was thinking about dualing 580's, but 6970's are cheaper, and will do what I need them to. They even benchmark better in some games. I just hope whoever ATI have writing their drivers can do a half decent job. The Rage specific drivers sucked, and made the game worse for alot of people. They even had to push out BF3 beta drivers. So it should be interesting.

Edit: I meant 560's. Dualing 580's would cost enough money that I'd think about selling 60% of my liver.

Well, sir, I will have to respectably disagree with your assessment. You seem to be confused.

Why tauren don't have this racial "Gnome Stomp - deal's 100% of your targets health in damage. Only usable on gnomes" makes no sense to me. By the size difference, they should be able to. Hell, Orcs should have a "Gnome Punt" ability, that sends gnomes flying 20 feet backwards,
