Wish they'd redo that already. Since they don't seem to want to give everyone an escape ability, I'm not sure what else you do. I suppose you could power up some of the other racials to be more equivalent to a trinket, there are several that would fit the bill without changing much. Or increase the CD on it. 3min was too long to get people to take it, but I wonder if there's a sweet spot in there (2:10, 2:15, 2:30 or something) where it'd become more of a tossup.

Can't play them like I used to, life gets in the way. Smiley: frown Still love MMOs, but nowadays the only multi-player parts are occasional dungeon groups and battlegrounds, and (of course) playing the auction house. Which is probably one of the more fun parts for me at this point. Probably something to be said for playing "the best single-player MMO on the market" right now. Smiley: rolleyes

BH is awesome. I wish I'd stumbled across the class before I spent all my time leveling up those other painful classes. Mercs still have issues in PvP, from what I've heard, but I enjoy(ed) it. It's kinda like playing a squishy, which is odd, because the class has heavy armor (just no survivability).

Trooper/BH is awesome. Smiley: nod

Rocket punch is one of my favorite moves in the game, between the animation and that satisfying "twock" sound.it makes.

It rained so hard on my commute home that I had to empty my shoes over the sink.

A very hot shower and a bottle of Guinness later and I'm okay though.

There's a store near my work that sells the Special Export Guinness for 20c less than any other place I know of. It's awesome because that gives me an affordable (€1.35/33cl) stout of world class quality.

BH is awesome because flame throwers... I loved my Inquisitor. She was such a blast. I might check SWTOR out again sometime since it's now F2P, but I don't know for sure. That game occupied me for about a month and a half. GW2 occupied me for about 2.5 months. The story in it is a lot better than in GW2, but it really does feel like a WoW version of Star Wars. I get the appeal of the whole "If it ain't broke don't fix it" method when it comes to gaming, but gaming companies could stand to be a bit more adventurous. If only GW2 could make their heart system have some more plot to it, I'm sure I'd find it more interesting.

Flamethrowers are icing on the cake, especially when the flames spout from your forearm like some villain in a superhero movie. Smiley: grin

Saving grace for the trooper though is the healer spec, since it's carrying the biggest gun in the game and all. That never ever ever ever happens in video games, so it's awesome just because of that.

Edit:

Also Pigtails, if you're thinking of coming back you'll probably want to either re-sub for a month or plan on spending a few bucks. They have some really annoying restrictions (2 crew skills, limited GTN auctions, no hide helm, no match armor colors, etc...) that you may want to pay a bit to get around. Many things you can unlock using credits (people buy the unlocks then sell them on the GTN), but your credits are capped at a fairly low level with preferred (350K) making it hard to purchase some of them. Smiley: frown

Yeah, it's just that 1000 PvP Power is a ridiculous boost in PvP (it's about 10% resilience reduction, IIRC) and it makes Humans the best race for Alliance, easily.

I'd switch races so ridiculously fast if that wasn't the case.

You know, it makes me sad that they decided to make the ion cannon exclusive to the trooper. The ion cannon is so cool but I just could not get into the military focused story line of the trooper. I mean, it makes sense for that class to have a military story line, but I don't get why they couldn't have let BH's have a cannon. I suppose it's not very stealthy, but I don't think weapon choice should necessarily be limited based on lore or whatever. Comparing an ion cannon to dual pistols is just lame.

It's the military versus non-military aspect of the classes. Troopers are obviously part of the military, where BHs are just contracted by the Sith, thus don't have access to the heavy guns like a Trooper.

Also, I'm already bored with the story. It's super serious and doesn't let me power through it like WoW does. Just let me blow sh*t up, already!

I don't really like that when I make random comments it affects my gameplay. Like the fact that I answer every question in the most flippant way possible has an effect on my dark side/light side crap. What's the benefit of that, anyway?

I think there's an option you can turn on so that it shows you what response gives you dark or light points. If it's not on by default that is. Choosing to go dark or light affects you later on down the road on what weapons and gear you can equip. So like, if you were a jedi or a sith, you can only equip a green saber if you have at least light level 1 and you can only equip a red one if you have a dark level 1. I only got up to level 38 or so, so that is the extent of my knowledge on the subject.

Well - I go away for 3 weeks to Germany & Poland and come back to 350 new posts!

Whoever mentioned 12:12 on the 12/12/12 - that was my 40th birthday! :)

Don't give aspirin to kids under 12 as there is a risk of reyes syndrome which can be fatal (rare and usually after a virus). Nurofen is as effective as aspirin and doesn't seem to cause reyes.

I still raid so there are a few of us still here :)

Speaking of snow - i'm a bit sick of it after 3 weeks of travel with only a couple of days scraping over zero degrees. Then I arrive back in Sydney last night at 10PM and it is still over 20 and tomorrow is supposed to be mid thirties!

Don't think I could ever go back to SWTOR. After leveling 15 or so toons in WoW and still enjoying the game, I couldn't face finishing my 3rd toon in SWTOR. The class quests are nicely done but having to repeat all the other one was killing me.

My wife and 16month old Harry are still in Europe for 3 more weeks so it is just me and the dog :) Almost didn't even get to say goodbye to them as at 2:30am (when my taxi was taking me to the station at 4:30am) my wife had to take Harry to hospital by taxi with Croup. Luckily we have had to deal with it once before so it wasn't too stressful. They give him an oral corticosteroid and it eases up quickly. They got back with 30 mins to spare so I got to say goodbye :) Now I have to work out how to set up Skype :)

Basically what Maz said. There should be light side and dark side vendors in the GTN quarter of space station on fleet. You can see if there's anything there you'd like to have. For the most part the choices you make just have an effect on how the storyline of the planet you're on plays out; there's little other benefit or consequence. IIRC the under-50 relics give some extra endurance while leveling, nothing game-breaking.

I wish they'd have more than 1 path through everything for each side. 2nd time through is still okay, choosing options you didn't the first time and all. After that, you can't hit the space bar fast enough. Smiley: frown

Because I don't care about SWTOR I shall talk about my cat.

I've gotten a sort of fishing rod with some feathers as bait as a toy for my cat (no hook, obviously) and it's proven to be hilarious to play with but for all the wrong reasons.
See, for some reason, my cat's "hunting instinct" tells him to hide under my bed and wait for the bait to come to him, should this not happen quickly enough he starts to cry and whine and look very very sad. He wouldn't last a week if he had to get his own food...

Well, that was a fast way to make some money. Did the Winter Veil quest where you save Metzen the Reindeer, and the package I got from it contained an epic level 90 dagger which I sold for 15k gold. Now to avoid spending it all on stupid overpriced crap...

Also, I wanted to move my Warlock, but I'm not paying them €45 to move my data from one server to another. Smiley: lol Those prices are hilarious.

I didn't know you still played Maz. I'm toying with the idea of dropping my EU account all together and restarting on US again. That way I would be able to raid and stuff again, and being able to play the game in your own time zone has a whole bunch of advantages.

Happy birthday Theo, don't have too much fun!

First of my pregnant friends gave birth this morning! started having contractions at 10pm, went to the hospital at 2am once they were close enough together, and gave birth at around 5am. Lucky girl! So excited for her and her hubby!

Reminds me of that episode of Californication where Hank ODs and the doctor guy tells him that there are no beautiful corpses. The first thing you lose control over when you die is all your autonomous functions, such as keeping fecal matter tucked away where it doesn't smell. Once the rot sets in and your organs begin to liquefy. you become a mess of seeping body fluids.

Good times.

That's one big ass rifle if it weighs 55 lbs. The infantry rifles I carried around weighed barely 7 lbs.

I find that boxes are a bitch to carry around, because you can't just put them on your back, or carry them like a grocery bag - you have to carry them in front of you, which means flexing your biceps for the duration. Depending on weight and carry distance, it can burn you out really fast if you're not used to it, especially if you can't get a proper grip, as you'll also be flexing your hands and forearms.

When I bought my new PC, I had to carry it from the post office and home, and even though the box only weighed 30-40 lbs and the distance wasn't more than 500-600 meters, I barely made it. It's an excellent isometric exercise, though.

Protip, Aeth: Stretch. If you're not used to carrying around that kind of weight, your arms will be sore like you wouldn't believe it tomorrow. I found out the hard way.

What Maz said. It was a big box (~70x70x50cm) and because of the rough treatment of international shipping all the corners were rounded out so I had next to no grip and it was too wide to carry on my shoulder and I couldn't get my arms around it much either.

I picked a career where the heaviest thing I'll have to lift is my lunch. I did that for a good reason (because it's fun but also because I @#%^ing hate lifting things)

Me and my brother helped my mom move a couple weeks back. We got everything into her new place, a good solid day of moving boxes and carrying furniture up stairs and such; then went to pick up her new sofa...

Nice long heavy thing, very fluffy and soft too. It was wrapped in a big plastic bag from the store, and she wanted to leave that on until we got it into the house (no one likes a dirty sofa). There was no place to grip it. You tried to just squeeze to hold it and your hand sunk into all the fluffiness; then it started to slide along the plastic and out of your grip. Holding tight was useless.

We didn't even make it to the porch; had to wait for help... Smiley: disappointed

I converted wrong. I blame lack of sufficient coffee to blood ratio. Yeah, that is painful then.

Important question though, does kitty like it?

Couches are almost as bad as washing machines. I know when my dad won his current sofa (a call and win thing) the deliverymen basically dropped the couch next to the front door and they wanted to leave. Now, this is a Rolf Benz sofa which means that not only is it pretty, it's well built too which also means that it weighs a @#%^ing ton. It's also about 2.5 meters wide. And it had to go up some stairs, stairs with a corner in them and a low ceiling.

He ended up paying both of the deliverymen €50 or so to help him move it upstairs, it still took a good hour and he had some downright crippling muscle aches for a week.

Edit: Kitty is very happy with it, also quite intimidated as it's easily 4 times as large as his previous one.

Sounds like when my dad and I had to carry my bed up to my apartment when I moved in. It was all soft corners and plastic wrap meaning nothing to hold on to. You had to carry it by digging your fingers into the plastic and praying it wouldn't tear. And I live on the fifth floor. Smiley: facepalm

I need to make enough money so I don't ever have to do that sh*t anymore. Although at least ordering online meant I didn't have to haul it from the store all the way home. That would've been an outright nightmare.

Also, my arms are going to hurt. Even with stretching and whatnot.

Bockbeer made with almonds is tasty. More tasty than the ones with chestnuts (very dry and not nice finish) and hazelnut (nice but not very nutty). The three beers were brewed by 3 different breweries, the almond one was brewed by a company that mainly employs people with a mental handicap which I really can only approve of and it's kinda neat that they "beat" the other breweries.

Edit: A pic of Ahmu in his new home, that basket is a little tricky to get in and out of Smiley: tongue

Oh and the pole isn't as small as it looks, I'm just standing on a chair for that pic...

Edit: since all you lazy cnuts aren't posting, here's Mad Season's Above album

I was just linked to a song from this album, it's a mid 90's supergroup featuring Layne Staley (Alice In Chains) on vocals and members of Pearl Jam and Screaming Trees. It's kind of grungy but with blues mixed in and it's awesome.

So I blacked out last night and didn't know that my friend moved my car so I wouldn't get a ticket while I got a ride home with some other friends.

He didn't think to tell me (as I was apparently with him) today, so I got a ride back to where I had parked my car and proceeded to freak the @#%^ out.

Called my friend and probably intended to ask calmly, "hey, what happened to my car?" but it came out as, "WHAT THE @#%^ HAPPENED TO ME LAST NIGHT?! ALSO, WHERE IS MY GODDAMN CAR?!"

He started laughing really hard and told me that he had moved it a block over. Smiley: facepalm

Looks like this isn't a problem, but if Ahmu does have issues acclimating to the cat tree, rubbing cat nip on it is a good way to get him interested. That's what we had to do with Miranda when we bought hers, because it naturally smelled a little funny.

He's very happy with it and he's been scratching everything enthusiastically, probably nice now that he can actually pul on it with all his might without pulling out pieces of rope.

Also, my shoulders, biceps and forearms hurt. Not fun.
