Just got my Galaxy S3, and I have to say, so far I really like it.

My Tiny Tower has 114 floors so far :)

I buy what I think looks good. A lot of times I find that to be designer stuff, but I also find a lot of non name brands that fit the bill too.

It's not really designer stuff that makes me buy it, it's the fit. There's a big difference between the crappy $20-per-pair jeans at Pac Sun and the jeans that I buy, mostly in fit, but also in quality of the denim. I hate when washes look stringy, for lack of a better term. Like when they were being faded, they weren't faded evenly.


Yup. All of my t-shirts are from Target. $9 for a great v-neck, and $7 for a great crew neck (they fit perfectly, or as close as I can get). I generally buy the cheapest option I can while still liking how the clothes fit me. Couldn't give two sh*ts about the label.

Suits and formal wear I try not to skimp on, though, without getting into the bespoke suiting (I refuse to pay more than $1000 for a suit until I'm making $100k+ a year), as getting a quality suit will last a lot longer.

I haven't bought a piece of clothing in four years. My mom usually starts begging me to get new clothes and eventually she'll drag me into town and buy all kinds of things for me.

No, I'm not living in the basement, I'm just not wealthy enough right now to care about my clothes. I can wear a pair of jeans until they start to fall apart. Social norms demand that I change my pants a couple of times every week, though. Using the same pair of pants for a week is apparently considered unhygienic by the majority.

I could, but that requires a whole two clicks. I'd rather just go to the main site.

The only time I ever really go clothes shopping is when I'm deployed, because there's always a little shop that makes nice custom suits for pennies. I'm talking real tailors and everything, you choose the materials, they take measurements, make adjustments, shirts, ties, the whole nine yards, and at the end of the day it's like $50.

I think, beyond that, I've gotten a couple of tshirts in the last eleven years.

I know how that feels.

You're on the right track.

If you can't get them out to someplace they can burn that energy, there aren't a whole lot of options. Couple of pieces of paper and a box of crayons works wonders too, just don't take your eye off of them.

Also, iPhone, gameboy, or other electronic gadgets, or awesome.

Crayons worked for a little while, until she started throwing them. Turns out she just wanted to have fun misbehaving, as she told my mother. And now I'm at work for the next 8 hours.

In other news a high school acquaintance just began a new career as a dominatrix and friend requested me on Facebook from her work account. I don't think I'll be accepting...

Nah, none of my employers can even see my Facebook page. I request friends on Facebook, they don't request me.

This is why I only have ~150 or so friends on Facebook.

People can find my facebook page (I think, maybe not) but they can't see any of my posts or a lot of my personal information (like religion and political beliefs) without being my friend. And there's no way in hell I'd accept a friends request from an employer. Hell, I'd probably be pretty skittish about accepting one from a coworker once I start looking for a real job.

I am slightly hungover. Still worth it though, I really needed the alcohol last night after a day of sh*tty clients at work, sending in 8 pages of text while they know that it's supposed to be put on a 2 page spread alongside 3 photos and then when you contact them they're all "no, we can't cut anything out of there".

Also, if you're writing an article for a newsletter that you know has to fit on 1 A4, why on earth do people think it's cool to send in a 3 page word document? I just can't get over stupidity like that. I'm not even allowed to call them stupid either

These are people who send in 2-8 page long text (in 11 or 12 pt) for a 1 or 2 page article. I'm kind of amazed they even know how to email that sh*t to me.


edit: Got to love Clients From Hell.
I got regular complaints from a client that the DVDs I gave him were corrupted. After several irate phone calls, I went down in person to check out the situation. His machine was in working order, his disc drive was functional, and after testing all of the DVDs he claimed were corrupted, I saw he was correct.
After berating me for my idiocy, the client went into a full-on rant about how my stupidity has cost him both time and money. I apologized profusely and offered him a DVD that I triple-checked was working.
He then slapped it on the nearby filing cabinet and kept it in place with a large magnet.

It's amazing how things change along with the relationship. When I get "get your ass over here" texts from the wife, I'm filled with horror.

Yeah, I can see how that would change. Fortunately for me, this was the good kind of text.

Can I just reply to the suits stuff. I currently have 4 tailored outfits (3 piece suits, although for two of them only the shirt was tailored). One where I bought everything in the UK, that was about $65 total incl. fabric. I had one made in London ages ago for $60 or so, as well, but someone ironed it too hot so it had a giant hole (eeeh, silk). The three in Asia were in the $10-$30 range (the one that is fully tailored 3-piece is really fancy with differently coloured lining and stuff). I also got 2 pairs of trousers and a dress altered for like $1 total.

I believe the MFA guys also usually go to Hong Kong to get custom suits. I think some ebay sellers over there allow you to give them your measurements, as well. So it's possible even from the US or wherever.

Also, I think the imam from Little Mosque on the Prairie is hot.

I've always said that when I get a job that requires me to wear a suit every day, I'm just going to Honk Kong or Vietnam or wherever with a couple thousand dollars and coming back with a whole bunch of suits.

Amazing what a "redhead green eyes strawberry" search string results in. No, I'm not surfing porn (note the lack of "naked" in there - by the way, there are a lot of naked redheads who like strawberries), I'm researching material for when I decide to upgrade to premium again.
