Rawboe finally got Mjolnir Runestone so he's doing the specialized marks build.

Tuesday I get to see results!

My hunter is now 69!

Got Argent Resolve last night to replace Pillar of Fortitude only to realize that I do not have an off hand. So now I'm stuck with the offhand inscription one(name escapes me atm).

Meh, I'm contemplating starting on a tank set.

Anyone know where to go to get the items? I'm assuming, since we can't parry or block and have no need for defense, we can tank okay in DPS gear, but is there leather gear out there specifically designed for bear tanks? It's possible for me to get gear on heroic level, but I don't raid regularly yet so I don't have access to raid gear.

Other than the emblem gear, do I really just want to go for +hit, +armor penetration, +expertise and as much agility, stamina and attack power as possible?

Don't need armor pen for tanking just + Hit and expertise really. Horse is usually wearing tank gear check out his armory.

I logged in tank set.

Bear gear tends to be high in stam, agi, armor and exp. Non leather with armor is awesome. Avoid parry but it happens sometimes.

Maybe it's just me, but with all the heroics I've run, I don't think I've ever seen a leather tank item drop. Leather drops, sure. You've got both Boomkin and Tree drops, plus your random Rogue/Druid leather item with +hit, +crit, +arpen and stuff, but never a leather item with +expertise/hit and high stamina.

Or maybe I'm just blind - in which case I'm an even more awesome healer than I thought.

There isn't much strictly tanking gear.

Crystal infused Tunic, heroic Nexus
Slag Footguards, Heroic HoL
Bile Cured Gloves, Heroic CoS
Mask of the Watcher, Heroic Occulus
Shroud of Darkness, Heroic VH
Legguards of Swarming Attacks, heroic OK
Sprinting Shoulderpads, heroic OK
Spaulders of the Careless Thief, heroic Nexus
Treasure Seeker's Belt, heroic AN (BoE from trash)
Bindings of the Tunneler, Heroic UtK

Most tanking gear is good for DPS, and vice versa. The BC days of things like the Heavy Clefthoof set are gone.

Oh, and the epics off the last boss.

Sharp-barbed leather belt, heroic UtK
Gored Hide Legguards, heroic Gundrak
Gilt Edged leather gauntlets, heroic UtP

Plus badges gear, ToC 5 normal and heroic...

Someone should make a pre-raid gear list if there isn't already one floating around here somewhere.

My guild did the second part of a fill-in-the-blanks Ulduar25 run.

I really don't understand how anyone can like 25 player raids. 10 mans are just so quiet, calm, straightforward, more dependent on me doing everything I can...

There is but I made it before Ulduar and ToC.

I can try and dig it up and add ToC stuff. Depends on how busy I am today at work.

This is why some people like 25s. Just because you're doing everything you can doesn't mean the other 9 people are, whereas you can lose 4-8 in a 25 and still pull through without difficulty.

I have know a few raiders that kind of suck and fail at 10 mans but have happily been carried along in 25 mans to gear city.

10 mans can be harder often just for these reasons.

Side note: Finally did Heartbreaker last night. He dropped the parry ring. We were pissed. Going for medium or maybe hard IC tonight.

Hard is easier than medium (edit: or maybe we were killing in the wrong when we tried medium IC). We done it last night on our first attempt. We are going to try kill Hard Mimi tonight

Kill the medium sized guy (sorry names elude me), then the little guy (again the name eludes me) and finally finishing with Steelbreaker. Save bloodlust/heroism for steelbreaker to get his health down low before a tank dies.

Ugh. We tried had some PuGs. The one warrior PuG was a douche and liked to die so it didn't work.

But ya Steel last does seem easier than Rune last.

Could be worse....you could have guildies who during our 25 man run seem to think that running through clouds is the way to go on Yogg. Once I am sure there is a wipe on the way due to too many adds I hit sprint and run through as many clouds as possible. Might as well have a little fun but in all seriousness it is so darn frustrating that after a good few attempts people are still no better at avoiding the clouds.

I am on the verge of not taking PuGs with to many 25 man achieves. They tend to suck.

To easy to be carried in 25 man Uld.

One guy f|_|cks up in 10 man and its fail.

So no more 25 man people for me. They suck too much. If they don't they are saved to the 10 man for hard modes as their guilds take the best for them.

I want 10 man hard modes, so 25 man guys are out from now on.

Losing people on 25-mans only works on easy-mode 25-mans. We're still wiping (repeatedly) on Northrend Beasts because we have 3-5 people d/c at he start of every attempt. That, or we have ranged that like to stand in fire.

"ZOMG, you mean I have to move? But melee doesn't? WTF!"

It's not like there are any fights that specifically hose melee DPS...

Oh, wait.

Wait, so you don't kill the snobolds? You just STAND THERE AND PEW PEW GORMOK!!! THIS IS AWESOME!
#774 Sep 29 2009 at 2:50 PM Rating: Excellent
My guild has relented and now allows ferals to stay on Gormok while everyone else switches to the snowbolds. The other feral and I managed to convince them that we can do 4k dps for the phase if we switch to snowbolds or 7k+ dps if we stay on the boss. This made a big difference with getting him down before the worms came out. Now if we can just keep everyone up during the worm phase, we should have the dps for Icehowl. We got Icehowl to 30% on our last attempt and that was with a few dps down.

I'm really enjoying the challenge (especially as I can see we are gradually getting closer and closer) after the facerolls we've had so far in WotLK - hard modes were too easy to give up on, TotGC doesn't give you any choice but to keep working at it.

Melee kills snobolds, but the ranged runs in so we have one person moving instead of 8. Except ferals. We stay on Gormok.

We have ranged on snobolds when they come out.

I tied my target snobold macro into my target nether portal and target volcano thingy macro. You can actually target them the second he puts them into his hand so you can get an early start on them.

Otherwise I ran ToC10 and ToC25 twice last night. My dk got some new gear from the 10 man, emblems from the 25. My druid got some emblems from the 10 man and a trophy from the 25 man. Now to get more emblems on my druid!
