Healer...Follow

I am trying to make a healer and Druids seem ideal since they have such a variety of healing spells. They also can play a fair amount of roles in Groups and instancing (Tanking in bear, DPS in Cat, and healer in caster) I'm not sure on making a priest becuase they are fragile to solo and level. Should i make a Druid just to Heal in groups?

Sure. I mean be always aware that you may need to do more. If something goes wrong you'll have to off-tank. And if its just a 5 man you might even have to MT. Which brings me to the druids weakness. Itemazation. We need to carry atleast 2 different types of gear around. Versatility is what a druids about. Always was, always will be.

Survivability is not what resto druids are known for...if you want survivability roll a holy paladin, they will save you mana and health.

My advice would to just make your druid a feral for leveling purposes. Get a healing set of gear for when you heal. Going full resto from the start is a horribly painful process, one which almost nobody wants to do. Feral heals just fine in lower instances and even in higher instances w/ the right gear. Tanking in resto form is probably not the best idea.

Ha! I can solo elite mobs 2 levels over my Priest. Shield does wonders. They're not as weak as you might think (I can tell you did not level priest yet) =P

I don't have much experience soloing elites on a druid, but I know my paladin can handle 3 yellow elites at a time...plate heals are awesome (even though my healing gear on my pally is cloth/leather right now...)

But I wouldn't expect to go into a druid expecting to only heal. I started off resto on my druid and only got caster gear (solo'd with the balance stuff), and every group I was in was like me, shammy, priest, rogue, mage. So guess what? Hey, you, resto guy with intellect and no strength or agility, you're the tank. So...healing isnt all druids do.

don't listen to those saying only go feral for leveling. You can also go balance. however yes it's a pain in the behind to level as a resto. unless you've a dps guy who plays with you every day it's something I wouldn't advise you to go that route. ps. I soloed level 40 mobs on my 36 druid so I don't really see what you're talking about as in we don't have that much survivability. I know I could easily kill 3-5 at a time if I had a healer and I went bear form but go whatever you want to and we won't complain.

ps. highest dps in instances leveling is no longer always the mage/rogue/hunter. paladins have hopped on the train.
