I'm no druid but i've always been curious, what do feral druids look for in gear and talents. Rogue stats? Warrior stats?

Basically it depends on what you are going for.

At 70 for tanking you should be going for STA, Armour, Defense, AGI (for dodge), and some Resiliance. Bear tanks don't have the talents of a warrior to reduce damage so we sponge tank. Massive armour and hit point pools mean we can take more of a beating.

If you're kitty cat (or just general feral gear) I recommend a good split of AGI/STR, STA, AP, and Crit.
If your going for sustained DPS then head for STR, AP and AGI, if you want big burst damage the go for AGI, Crit and STR

This is pretty a standard feral build (if your going pure feral). Link although there are plenty of variations based on your preferences. For example if you don't use Shred as part of your opener then you may want to use the 2 points in Shredding Attacks some where else. Again if you don't shift a lot, you probably don't need 3 in Natural Shapeshifter, and if you don't PVP you probably won't use Natures Grasp as often.

For a Druid there is no real reason to favor +attack power over +strength. Unless +attack power gives a lot more. Especially not if you have the talent Heart of the Wild, which most feral druids do.

With the talent it looks something like this:

1 strength = 1.2 strength (Cat form) = 2.4 attack power (Cat form).

For instance, 40 strength would give 48 strength in Cat form. That's a bonus of 8 strength, or 16 attack power. Which means that to outweigh strength you would have to get 16 attack power more than usual.

Same goes for agility. You only gain 1 attack power per point of agility, but it also adds do your dodge rating, your armor rating and your crit rating. Plus, when in Cat form, you gain attack power equal to a percentage of your total agility.

You can check out my equipment here. I have around 1500 attack power in Cat form and it can only go up.

While getting raw attack power might seem more efficient, you must remember that agility gives a pretty decent chunk of crit rating as well, not to mention 2 armor points for every agility. And if you have Heart of the Wild, getting strength and agility armor sets (of the Tiger, of the Beast, of the Grove) over pure agility and attack power (of the Bandit) or pure attack power (of Power) is very much worth it.

As a druid you cannot think of your gear as "Rogue" or "Fury Warrior" type armor. There lots of druid specific excellent blues out there.

If your going for DPS catform you need STR and agi mostly. most STR and AGI pieces will give you more bang for your buck. 25 STR > 44 AP also we gain AP and crit from Agi not too mention dodge and armor value. Look up Veliya 70 druid on eonar in the armory. I have nearly 2k AP and almost 32% crit self buffed in blue gear just from emphasizing those 2 stats. Easy AP upgrades to get that every attainable are Earthwarden with a 35agi enchant and the EPIC boots, waist, and wrists from 70 PVP. Good stats with survivability. I'm working on getting those PVP epics now

If PVP is your cup of tea, then your going to be looking for gear with these stats in mind: Stam > STR > AGI > INT. Do not completely ignore int as having a healthy mp pool can help you A great deal in the BGs. right now I'm suffering from a lack of stamina and int, and it's really hurting me out there lol. (my gear is mostly for DPS in PVE) But, in 2 weeks I'll have my PVP boots and wrists and that will give me a huge stam and int gain.

Read up as much as you can about druid stat calculation.

A druid with no int or stam is a dead druid that can't shift forms as the battle changes...
