On who to side with as a deep frost mage - Aldors or Scryers? Or does it really matter come endgame? Tbh nothing they were offering really blew me away.

The one item that seems fairly decent was the Aldor Staff, but will there be better staff drops than this in the heroics? I am also a tailor, so at the moment I am thinking Scryers as they offer the plus damage 'enchants', but I don't want to make a bad decision so any ideas would be appreciated, thanks.

Get Scryers for the enchants and ring. To be honest, there isn't any huge OMG factor for going one or the other. I went Scryers so I could enchant my pants whenever I needed to.

I went aldor for the robe / staff...but sadly I didnt need them for too long so i got screwed out of the other neat stuff from scryer.

Blizzard should atleast make a quest chain that takes hours to complete atleast, so that we can switch. or make it costly like 100g for first, then 200g..etc.

I think you CAN switch, can't you? Isn't that what those spider sacs are for?

There's a drop from the Basilisks around Terrokar that lets you raise your Scryer faction (and, I assume, lower your Aldor faction at the same time) so it's safe to say that there's a method for t'other side.

Edit: Here we are, directly thieved from WoWwiki, all credit to their site:

Switching to Scryer

To change your faction from Aldor to Scryer to access their crafting recipes (and undo all reputation progress you have made), find Arcanist Adyria, a Scryer in Lower City. She offers you a repeatable quest Neutral [62] Voren'thal's Visions, that requires you to find eight Dampscale Basilisk Eyes. Once you are Neutral with the Scryer you can no longer receive this quest. The quest gives you +250 Scryer rep and -275 Aldor rep (in bonus, the quest also gives you +125 rep with The Sha'tar).

If I remember right, she's around the north part of Lower city, talking to an Ethereal.

Switching is not something you want to do, incredibly expensive and/or time consuming.

Unless I'm mistaken, there is one thing that won't be replaced: the shoulder enchants. Profession recipes might sway you a little, but from what I've seen they generally don't sell well, and you can get another tailor to make the stuff for you. I'd go based on the enchants, unless you don't have time to keep running instances for better gear and would prefer to just buy slightly inferior gear. Worth noting that the instance equivalents of Aldor stuff can be gotten from normal instances, while it appears Scryer's equivalents aren't available until heroics.

That's the most important thing to choose based on, IMO. I preferred the +dmg leaning shoulder enchants, so that's why I picked what I did. +crit is nice, but I'm more focused on the damage and will get my crit elsewhere.
